Take your time choosing your cars... tampo accuracy is hit or miss across different cars (maybe they're are produced on certain assembly machine lines with differently adjusted paint applicators). Doesnt help that the paint process designer chose to apply that much white paint last onto a black painted body.

Well, its a good excuse to drill out the rivets, spray some paint stripping gel, and get painting.

^ wow when did that one come out? I was only aware of the 'stock' ones.
Not sure if I'm quite feeling the wings....but the body kit + rims sure made it look a lot better than these:

Just purchased these gems from a local ebay seller tonight. All converted over to tobacco livery!

Ended up getting a Massa Sauber C21, Schumacher Jordan Honda, BAR Villneuve, Schumacher Williams FW26 (Walrus nose), Schumacher F2002 and a Trulli Renualt

It is a custom one-off mod, notice the numbers are the same (46) on the box.

Sky_High 12-05-2012 05:16 AM

Anyone have any experience with modding diecast cars? I've been lurking around diecastxchange forums for awhile and some of the stuff they do, my god it's amazing.

My ASM S2000 custom AutoArt - DX Custom Models - DiecastXchange.com

I'm mostly just interested on using Uli Nowak wheels on Maisto 1:18s, but I have no idea how they fit

I was gonna do a front mount intercooler on my bugeye sti. LOL, I took it all apart and left it in the box and haven't made any progress.

There are plenty of Hot Wheels cars that look great. Good molding, good paint, tampos, etc. The panda AE86 looks really bad, even for a HWs car.

Edison_Chen 12-07-2012 10:14 PM

There were only 2 of these AE86, and both were just as bad. I had to pick the better of the 2. The white paint looks likes somebody didn't clean the spray/spray bottle properly, the white kinda looks blackish.

Mattel quality control seems to be going down while cost cutting is going up. Saw a Boulevard series car (these are around $5) missing its back wheels. Completely sealed in the packaging. I don't know how they missed that.
