some of us buy and pay stupid money for certain models for the sake of having them.

In HK right now and visited the Autoart showroom. Are these expensive compared to buying online? I know the exchange is shit right now too which doesn't help matters... Thanks in advance!

Mclaren F1 LM = 2200 HKD
GT3 RS 4.0 = 1300 HKD
911 2.7 RS = 1200 HKD

!Kodamu 06-18-2015 11:53 AM

Regular pricing. If you can find the same models at Newace or Modelcarexpo. U can get 15% off

if you can pls take pics? all i've seen are stock photos.

!Kodamu 06-18-2015 01:26 PM

Lol. What kinda pics you want thumper

thumper 06-18-2015 01:53 PM

i want to see what it looks like to have autoart models stretched from end to end inside stacked from floor to ceiling, as well as their vintage/discontinued stuff that i've never seen before other than in a catalogue :toot:

someone told me that the current location isn't the original one, and back in the day they had floor just for scratch and dent discounted sales? is that still true?

!Kodamu 06-18-2015 05:41 PM

Yes, they moved from their original and bigger location to the new one. I don't find it impressive to see that much autoart in boxes being stacked. Because locally it is already like that. But to see them being all out and displayed at Newace and other shops are more impressive.

The old Autoart store had just a little area on the shelf for the scratched/discounted sales. I picked up a few from there. The rest I never buy from the store because other stores would give you discounts.

kinda off topic. But this is what Dabox Toys looks like:

A new place I found out about during this trip is called Toyzone. This is the place that has all the vintage and old diecast models as well as old figures.

You walk down a dead end and face with this entrance to the warehouse,

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ID...=w1234-h925-no

Walk into the warehouse to the elevators which are still operated by worker and manually opening the doors!

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/kI...=w1234-h925-no

Go up one floor and you would see their entrance

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/1z...=w1234-h925-no

whats inside is just endless rolls of old toys and models. Most 1/43 are in glass cabinets which you ask the workers to open up for you

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/Bg...=w1234-h925-no

Dangerous place because most of the models I havent even seen before would be there!!

After couple of trips I ended up bringing these back with me

At home being displayed

Yes, sometimes we do. Fresh off the boat. 1/18 Mugen RR

https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/ob...=w1234-h925-no

I ended up buying this over a Zonda R Revolucion since I missed out on getting one when they were everywhere :rukidding:

Gonna have to do a proper photoshoot of the Mugen with the rest of my Mugen DC5 and NSX-R

Wilkinsons

Did you have a chance to visit Wilkinson Automemorabilia off Broadway in Vancouver? They shut down about two months ago after about 30 years in business. The guy has/had literally thousands of diecasts. He may be now selling on line.

I just came back from 6 weeks in Europe... this is one of the models waiting for me at my parents house that came in the mail... it's very impressive, really enjoying Ignition's lineup these days. Love the stance too.
