Winter car storage Hey all, does anyone here store their car at a commercial storage place? I have a 1 car carport only here so I can't store it at home. Which company do you use and how much does it cost? and what are the terms etc? thanks |
I would like to know too! |
if you guys have a friend with an apartment or something with underground parking ask them to purchase an extra parking spot, when i had my apartment an extra spot was 25$ a month and i got one for my sister some buildings may be different so im just speaking in my case, but the car has to have valid parking insurance (its really cheap) |
^ that. and storage insurance "just in case" one of my friends stored his M3 long ago in his apartment underground parkade during winter, and some asshole called a tow truck and towed it away (stole it). he could locate his car and find it with security camera in that parkade, hoever, if he didnt have storage insurance..... |
im assuming that if you store your car you go there every once in a while to visit your friend or at the very least go there to start the car sometimes, insurance is a must tho |

I really don't want to park my car at "a friend's apartment lot" where everyone goes in and out... if it's a house garage or a separated public storage.. it would be OK and nobody knows how much it costs for public storage? |

Call and ask. Public storages are pretty expensive. I can tell you how much but I'm going to teach you to use the phone lol. If you're looking to store while not shelling out, then friend's apartment is going to be the only alternative. Sacrifices, eh. It's not bad if you do it legitimately. If it's a newish apartment, then security will be good. Just make sure you do it legitimately. My friend used to live in an apartment, but he didn't have a car. Somebody thought his space was "empty" so they decided to store their car there. Left storage insurance on the dash and everything. Friend told building manager and they got it towed away. |

Regardless of where you store it, proper insurance is KEY lol. |
