The whole point of car shows and concepts is to gauge the public's reaction. The Aztek was well received, and was put into production, but not before corporate decided to lower the costs. For the record, Bob Lutz was very against the overwhelming use of plastics and strakes, and that was reduced in later models.

I love the rendering, just not as a Mustang, as another model in the Ford lineup, maybe. My favorite years are 68 and 69 (though more towards 69), both fastbacks.
