Sounds pretty normal. When I was shopping OEM front lip for my s2k, each dealer had different pricing, with differences being quite significant. Take some time and compare, or just go to ebay.

If you want to buy a part from the closest dealer but another one has a lower price, simply ask the first dealer to price match the other one. They almost always say yes.

It's frustrating, and the more you think about it, the more pissed off you get (at least that's me). If you have the time, the states always seems to be the place to go, or at least order from. Quote:

All dealers will buy the parts from Ford at the same price, however, what they mark up and charge the end customer is determined by the dealer. Ford does not control the retail price of parts, just like they don't control the retail price of cars. It's called an MSRP (Manufacturer's SUGGESTED retail price). Dealers charge whatever they want.

It's more than ridiculous. I'd be happy to support local businesses but I order most things from the states because it's always SO MUCH CHEAPER and usually faster too.

Now that you know this is a normal practice in the industry, I would highly suggest you start rubbing elbows with the parts guys and make friends. Parts guys should always be in your "I know a guy who can..." list.
Because you never know...when you really need that part and everybody else is charging an arm and a leg...yeah. That, or buck up and order online.

The buck goes to a third party, so the employees have always been happy to turn the compressor on in my experience. Quote:

I called Honda in Bellingham, they told me $68, and they'd have it the next morning. | Honda Canada and Honda USA are separate entities. I deal with this all the time at work (Honda M/C dealer). Many times Canada does not have stock availability and the part is listed on B/O for 2 months or whatever. Now, any parts/service guy worth their weight would put in what's called a "Critical Backorder Adjustment" which basically picks it out of the US stock *IF* it's available and usually I'll have the part within two days.

most chevrons tend to have air available to check your tire pressure, for free.
If you don't have a gauge on hand, then you could borrow the one from the cashier.
I've always appreciated this from chevron, but I tend to favor shell gasoline.
I also agree, tpms is a joke. Great if it works, but most of the time they are finicky and nothing but problems.

..Of course, they're the only stations around that have 94 octane available.

Recently got a quote for a Acura TL starter. Ranged from $320-478 depending on the Acura Dealerships, while Lordco sells it for $220. LOL
