| OK, Ford. What the fuck.
I love your new 2012+ Ford Focii. I really do. It's glorious. I'm also very happy that you put in Tire Pressure Monitor sensors so that my mom (who is not the most observant woman in the world) knows if she's got a low or flat tire. But what in the name of the motherfucking flying fucking spaghetti monster is with your Dealerships' pricing policies on parts?
I got quoted the following prices for the TPMS (in order of phone calls)
Coastal:
$89.90, "But we'll sell it to you for $76.42"
Brown Brothers:
$60
Key West:
$77.97
Cam Clark:
$71.92
Metro Ford:
$59.93.
Why in god's name is there a THIRTY DOLLAR DIFFERENCE between different locations. And why is the closest dealership also (essentially) the most expensive for walk in customers.
Once I cool off, I am going to send a less curse-word-laden email to Ford Corporate, but Jesus H Fothermucking Christ WHAT HAPPENED TO CONSISTENCY PEOPLE!?

Not a fan of TPMS. I am entirely capable of checking my tire pressures on a regular basis with my $10 tire pressure gauge.
At the very least, there should be an easy way to turn the damn TPMS light off.

This isn't an issue with Ford.
When I bought my used QX4, it needed a new fog light due to a crack from road debris.
I called up 3 different Infinity dealers and was quoted 3 different prices for a "loaded" fog light.
I inquired about the "loaded" part and asked about an unloaded fog light and how much those were. All 3 dealers had the same price, which was higher than the highest "loaded" price. A loaded fog light meant it came with the H3 light bulb.
Screw them. I bought the light from the US and saved almost $150.

Never buy parts or have your vehicle that's not under warranty serviced at Coastal Ford. They are the biggest ripoff. The parts and service guys are non union and they get commission on the parts and service they sell. They will sell you parts and service that you don't need and everything else under the sun just to make a few extra bucks at the highest prices.
Makes you wonder why Coastal Ford is the most expensive one.

How is this news? All parts guys operate like that. Generally they get bonuses or some shit. You can do the same thing with Lordco. Call 5 different lordcos, you will get 5 different prices on the same parts.

Same thing with Honda parts. Richmond Honda, Vancouver Honda and Pacific Honda all had different prices for an oxygen sensor.
Richmond: $298
Pacific: $275
I ended up buying a Denso unit (same manufacturer as OEM) from RockAuto.com, shipped to my door for about $60. Had I bought the OEM unit from a Honda parts site in the states, it would probably cost half of what local stealerships charge.

This is completely normal...for more $$$ items, also check with Ford in Bellingham.
I needed something for my Accord, all lower mainland Honda's quoted me $300+, and told me they'll get it in 4 months due to backorder (wtf).
I called Honda in Bellingham, they told me $68, and they'd have it the next morning.

I guess all of the dealerships have their own pricing, I've had similar experiences with Mercedes, Honda & GM.

You think $30 is a big price difference? Try calling some local Acura dealerships for parts. LOL

OK, reminding myself about the car industry and seeing all of the lack of surprise from the rest of you has calmed me down. Still not happy. Sigh. Legwork from here on out whenever picking up parts. Gorram it.

Lol, my truck needed a resister card for the heat, after I read online that it solved 99% of the heat problems. The forum guy said it was about 15-20 dollars at the dealership. Told dino, "it'll be $47 in BC"
Final price, out the door? 47.16.
I thought at the least I would get a prize from Drew for being so close without going over.

The entire car industry is like this. There's not a lot of integrity and honesty, unfortunately. If you're not savvy, you'll end up paying out the ass for a lot of trivial things.
