Reputable Gutter Cleaning Company

Wondering if anyone can recommend me a good gutter cleaning company? I'd rather go with a referred one than blindly find one on google.

Thanks!

I found one on newspaper for like $60..... he seems decent and clean out all the junk. Although he most likely doesn't have a liscense or anything of that sort........

one guy knocked on our door. quoted $80. he was by himself and he said he was done in 30 minutes. we checked the gutters and he basically only did one section...

we got quotes of $200 and they actually cleaned the gunk out and washed the gutters.

Did you climb up to check it after? $60 seems unbelievably cheap! Do you still have his contact info?

Hah yeah.... this is what I was trying to avoid. Do you remember which company you went with in the end?

Seems pretty good He actually show us all the junk before he throw it in the grabage. It was two years ago from the Chinese newspaper so I doubt I still have his phone number. Haven't had the guilter overflow yet so I take it he did a good job @@

It doesn't appear to be capable of turning corners, so I wouldn't consider that a very good investment. You still need to drag a ladder around the house to turn it and that's a good portion of the work..

If you want to save time, hook a wand up to an electric pressure washer. The job goes by very quick that way, you don't really even need a ladder.

what if you have gutters 20' high? will the want actually reach those heights?
i'm guessing a pressure washer is a must as a typical hose won't have enough pressure?

Definitely needs to be a pressure washer, but it doesn't need anything especially powerful; the one I used was a budget $80 version from Costco and it worked just fine. You can get a 18' fiberglass wand for $120~ locally, but if you're trying to do it on a budget a wooden pole strapped to a shorter wand might get the job done.

It's really quick and easy with the pressure washer, I've done it quite a few times and its definitely the way to go. It goes by very quick.

We were charged $300 to power wash the whole roof + garage and gutters. they did a good job up almost 3 storey, except all the gunk from 20years on the clay tile went to our italian neighbour.
They did clean up, but not good enough according to our neighbour. Had to hose down neighbours side ourselves afterward.

My house backs on to a bit of a forest and i get a ton of leaves through the fall. Not sure if i could afford to pay someone to come twice a year to clean out the gutters.

Last year i was walking around on the front part of the roof where it isn't very steep and high. i had my electric leaf blower and aimed right into the gutters and blew it all out and came out VERY clean. Leaves were still wet but that didn't matter. I then attempted to walk toward the back of the roof but it got higher and steeper and i just couldn't do it. So i was browing online and found this:
A Safe Way to Clean Gutters - Fine Homebuilding Article

I built it with parts from homedepot. Seems to work ok if the leaves are dry, but was having problems when wet.
I also bought the guttermaster but have not tried it yet
Curved Pole
in the next short while after the leaves stop falling, i'll give it a try. Anyone else try these techniques?

We used "men in Kilts" and do not recommend. They did a half assed job. WE got a deal through groupon though, so maybe they do a shittier job for discounted jobs?
The groupon was for 3 hours of cleaning with 2 guys.

1 guy shows up and doesn't clean shit. At the end of 3 hours, we looked at it and complained. Then another dude, i guess his manager showed up and had to help out. Still shitty after. They said we would have to buy more hours etc.

Would not recommend at all.

i have a small wet/dry vac that i attach to my belt with caribeeners and i suck the dirt out that way. works extremely well. And it's clean and you don't have to clean up below you.

However, cleaning up your dry/wet vac is a little disgusting after.

i had thought about using a shop vac, but i heard some people say the tubing gets clogged when sucking up leaves and twigs. Any issues with that?

I attach a leaf blower to my belt, run a shopvac hose from the end of the blower, then to the bottom of a 12 foot pvc tube with a small J curl at the other end. Works quite well when its all dry. There is a mess on the yard and driveway to clean up after

i guess it just depends on what is in your gutters? I have a pine tree so I get lots of pine needles and the occassional leaves so i have not had a problem yet with my shop vac clogging

last year I had some guy knock on my door saying he will clean all my gutters and wash the windows for $20 and all he needs is to use the water on the side of the house. I said why not and low and behold the guy did a great job I was shocked when I saw him on the roof of my two story house lol

fxxk.
I did my gutters yesterday. Had to haul out the 40' ladder and head up to the top peak only to find a hockey ball firmly wedged in the downspout.

fxxking steep ass roof.....

I would have happily paid someone to do it for me.

I think it was the same guy who got that actual hockey ball to the back of his head, shortly after I fished it out of the gutter.

Bump... any recommendations for gutter cleaners? I'm experiencing a lot of overflow from one of my second story gutters - too high for me to climb up!
