So how soon before genuine R34's are allowed in Canada?

knight604 10-30-2012 01:27 PM

umm the ad said this was the stunt car. :failed:

There were 4 of these cars used to make the movie, they all looked identical from the outside, but each served a specific purpose depending on what part of the movie was being filmed. One was destroyed, a movie executive kept one, Paul Walker kept the one with the full interior used for all the close up shots, and then there was the one used for the jump scene, which is this one.
The car is stock other than the work done by Universal Pictures to change its looks and to make the jump safer for the driver.
this pos is probably worth 1/4 of the asking price as a project car

SpeedStars 10-30-2012 02:05 PM

ahh... So that's why the suspension is so jacked up.

Way to ruin a R34...

1exotic 10-30-2012 02:44 PM

I know of the guy and have seen this car.

The only reason for the price mark up is since it was a 2 fast 2 furious car and is kind of a hollywood car collector piece.

a US titled genuine mint condition R34 GTR is like 50k or so.
a GT-T even with a RB26 swap is around $25k tops.

So the car is definetley way overpriced for what it is.

Viggen 10-30-2012 04:13 PM

what you gonna do with this? can you sniff vin diesel's ball sweats on the seat?

Lomac 10-30-2012 04:16 PM

Agree with the pricing or not, it's one of the actual prop cars from a movie. Oddly enough people will willingly pay many times the street price of something when you can attach it to a movie, especially if there's corresponding paperwork to prove it.

Vin Diesel never drove a R34 Skyline.

Waiwaiwaiwiawiwiai wait a minute. I thought that you couldn't own a R32 or R34 in the states? You could only own a R33 or R34 due to some safety concern I thought...

FishTaco 10-30-2012 06:02 PM

I was at universal studios 2 weeks ago and this car was sitting on one of the lots there...

Look at what happened with that piece of shit white jetta from the first one. Frankie muniz paid like 75k for that, and it would take maybe 600 bucks to replicate nowadays. Someone will buy this, and I guarantee they will be an idiot, just like malcom in the middle.

kwy 10-30-2012 11:52 PM

Whatever makes you happy, man. Different people put a different value on things. And of course, Malcolm was loaded.

imp>dom 10-31-2012 02:05 PM

people will still think it's a fake
