Just ordered an Olympus E-P3 with 17mm f/2.8 for $399 shipped to Point Roberts. Great system if you're looking for a M43 unit. They look hot with a leather skin as well.
Looks fantastic. I much prefer the old school look that Olympus has been going for lately compared to the wacky spaceship crap from Sony, which is really too bad because the NEX cameras have that awesome peaking feature.
I just bought a lightly used Panasonic GH2 that I'm gonna hack for video. In case anyone is looking for a 14mm f2.5, they're like $190 on eBay (compared to $350 in stores). No box...just lenses ripped out of GF3 and GF5 kits.
looking to buy a Sony nex 5r before I go to Mexico in April. Currently on sale for 579.99. Should I grab it now or do you think a better sale will happen before then Posted via RS Mobile
If anyone is interested, Woot now has the Panasonic G5 on sale for $399 with the kit 14-42mm lens. Great entry level dSLR, especially considering the price.
It's no GH2/GH3 for those interested in videography, but it still shoots great footage and stills.
Forgot to mention this earlier. Crumpler Vancouver store is closing. Everything is 50% off or better. Last day today. I saw messenger bags and camera bags/backpacks. Mainly million dollar homes, embarassment series, etc. Last day today. They even have free toilet paper....
I'm going to be buying these 1000x 64GB cards from a company called KomputerBay in a while. They're the recommended cards, bang for buck-wise, for 5D3 Magic Lantern RAW video.
They're QA failed Lexar 1000x cards, meaning there's a big variation in speed but the good ones are as good as the Lexar equivalent. They're only $100 so I'm going to order 5 and return the 3 slowest ones.
You'll have to get them from US Amazon if you want to save money, as always.
I don't remember the last thing I bought in Canada.
Broadway Camera has a bunch of sales right now. 15% off all their tripods, and 20% off all their bags/cases - which makes them half acceptable for local stuff. Still probably wont' be as cheap as the states.
They have the Canon 50mm f1.8ii + Manfrotto MKc3-H01 Tripod kit, and RC-6 remote for $160 which is actually a pretty decent deal.
