| Winter hot springs getaway?
Hi all, was wondering where might be a decent place to head to for a soak in the hot springs during the winter? I was hoping somewhere that is within driving distance from Vancouver - we can stay for around 2 or 3 nights. No more than a 6 or 7 hour drive though and the roads can't be too dangerous in the winter to drive on - not worth risking our lives or our car for a getaway!
I've googled and found places such as Radium, Nakusp and Ainsworth and they're all quite far and possibly will require driving through some pretty treacherous highways. We've been to Harrison too many times though and would like to check out something new. Is there anything else out there around here or in Washington that someone might know of?

Ainsworth was decent but it's 8~10 hr drive and in winter roads are closed sometimes..
there's couple of hot springs in vancouver island if you want to check them out...

Theres one hotel that I know of in Whistler that offers rooms with your own private outdoor hot-tub. I've been thinking of going too but IIRC in the winter they get crazy expensive. It would be pretty sweet to have a nice view + your own private outdoor hot-tub though. Sea To sky is a pretty tame drive even in the middle of a snow storm (ploughs are very active). Just drive at your own speed and you should be fine
I'll post back if I find which one it is specifically
EDIT: Sundial Hotel

Only other place I can think of with accessible hotsprings within an easy drive of Vancouver would be Meager Creek, outside of Pemberton. Could be a nasty drive in the winter, could be really good, depending on the weather.
I've been told that the native band there manages a campsite with hotsprings somewhere along the Duffy Lake road, but I couldn't say offhand exactly how to find it.

just figured that OP would have an easier time finding it than meager and have to also go alot less in on the FSR

Do any of these places have real outdoor hotsprings? I'm not talking about an outdoor pool fed with hot spring water but something that at least looks natural. Harrison just looks really dated.
I was at some hot spring spa in China once and there were separate pools of hotsprings but it looked pretty cool.
Something like this |

Both are about the same distance from Pemberton, really.

Something like this | you would want to head up to sloquet hotsprings: Sloquet Hot Springs | Whistler BC Hiking
4x4 required.

Not yet, I think this hot springs idea will need to be placed on hold. Meager Creek/Skookumchuk/Sloquet are all way off the beaten path for us, while we've been to Whistler too many times (and probably would rather be skiing than sitting in a hot spring!).
The image posted of the one in China looks amazing...too bad nothing within easy access for us here.

a decently equipped 4x4 should get you to all the places listed.
