Too bad it isn't about flipping cars to lose money, I'm really good at that.

on another note, i dont really think the audience base shrunk that much, more so into introducing kids today about Touge racing origins. and also people who look for nostalgia.
THIS.
Fast n Furious franchise made every American kid think they're hotshit when they're standing by their cars with tribal decals all over.

noticed tons of fd's, ae86s, gtrs etc out lately around where i am now. didnt see them in the spring or summer when it was nice out.. maybe they are super excited and brought their toys out so they can be popular again
I don't think in Initial D's timeline ... the GT86 is even out yet
and the whole anime is based on the philosophy that you don't need a new fast car to win, just heart and talent.
You're right, the timeline of Initial D starts from 1998 or so and has continued only into 2~3 years beyond that. It doesn't matter anyways, after 2002 Japan hasn't produced a whole lot of "pure" driving sports cars compared to before. Posted via RS Mobile

Well here is some food for thought.
In the initial (pun intended) volume of Initial D it says year is "199x"
and then Takumi grew from 18 to 19 in the more recent volumes.
So give them all the benefit of the doubt the year is now 2000.
Where did they find EVO 8, 9(?), 350Z and AP1 (with a 2004+ dashboard, lol) in year 2000?
