You're not gonna get a super clean R34 GT-R V-spec for any less than 60k. The cost of the actual car is already super high, then you have import/duties/shipping, taxes and inspection fees. An accident, rebuilt GT-R cost around $30-40k.

I still think $60+k is very high even considering all the cost to bring it here.

Maybe it's just one of those things when newer model didn't retain older model's tradition.
Nissan Skyline GT-R has always been Inline-6 TwinTurbo for a long time, ATTESA 4WD, RHD and all that. (at least from R32)

Good example is Porsche 911.

When Porsche came up with more futuristic looking 911 with liquid-cooled engine, people didn't like it at all.
In fact, air-cooled 911s (993, 964, 930, etc..) are much more popular and retain higher resale value than newer liquid cooled models.
996s are worthless, 997 is getting cheaper than air-cooled 911s too.

That only has value as a collectors item, a car that's sat for that long without moving is gonna be dry rotted to hell.

how? I thought it would be opposite? because they're both liquid-cooled.

is it because size/weight?

R34s imported into vancouver are all being put up for sale. Have seen like 6 on craigslist.
Are importers just buying them to flip them to r34 fan boys?
Would love to see a project r34 turned into a liberty walk version!!

You can get them for 30k in ontario, might as well just get it from there and drive it back if you really want it

all vehicles are cheaper in ontario, jdm or not. but you really need to go see them in person. they usually turn out to be much worse than the internet ad that was posted, as my friend unfortunately found out

agreed...just look at how many V-Specs were made (way less than V-Spec II)...it's a collector's car.

I also would not compare the values of R34 vs. R35

I was tempted to get a R34 GT-R and almost pulled the trigger on one, but stopped cause it was not reasonable. Haha, got a Evo VI instead for way less. I'll wait till all the R34's become legal to import and hopefully the prices come down, although I don't see it dropping anytime soon.

Those prices are still stupidly high, my car is as very nearly rare as a VSPEC or VSPEC II (1600 made) but nobody is stupid enough to ask $75k for it.
