I was tempted to get a R34 GT-R and almost pulled the trigger on one, but stopped cause it was not reasonable. Haha, got a Evo VI instead for way less. I'll wait till all the R34's become legal to import and hopefully the prices come down, although I don't see it dropping anytime soon.
prestige is in australia, and has been around for a long time and has a good rep (for a used car dealer).
they did not buy this car, but they post information of cars that go through auction as examples of what was recently available, so this info might not be up for long.
so according to the auction sheet prestige posted, the mileage is legit:
sold at auction for roughly $40kcdn + whatever the fees, etc. on top

as you can see from the auction sheet, it is a 4.5(!) with a B-grade interior. very clean and mileage is legit.
bought at auction for roughly $43k cdn before all the extras.

That was a good price for low mileage GT-R V-spec. I couldn't see it because for some reason it was listed on the auction as a R grade. I guess it was a typo.
Am I missing something why is that Bayside Blue R34 only $43k. Shouldn't it be more than the white one?
the blue one went for $40k. and the white one was $43k. modded ones are not always that appealing. for example, in some parts of australia restrictions on many aftermarket mods will make that blue one fail compliance.
bomiheko also said it the blue one was misrepresented as a R-grade in the online auction which could have hurt bidding resulting in a lower unreserved final sale?

I didn't know what GT-Four RC was, so I did a quick google search and stuff. I think this could simple be due to high demand for GT-R.
Apparently 5,000 units of RC were made.
I still think it's simply because of demand for R34 is so high.
Ferrari 456 for example...
456 GT and GTA
Production started: 1993.
Production ended: 1997.
Total production: 1,936
As you can see 1,936 units over the course of 5 years is quite low, but 456 has horrible resale value due to low demand.
1,600 RC (Japan) editions, the rest of the 5000 were GrpA (Aus) or CS (EU). It has to be demand driven (are those expensive ones even selling though?) because asking more than MRSP for a 15 year old Datsun is deep into "crack pipe" territory.

I just realized about MSRP when you said it...R34 has pretty good resale value.
R34 Skyline GT-R: 4,998,000 Yen = $72,471 Canadian
R34 Skyline GT-R V Spec: 5,598,000 Yen = $81,171 Canadian
... if i am doing the math right

These 2 R34's are have recently been imported. All all the owners intentions just to try and flip them for profit? I'm a R34 fan boy like many but RHD is going to turn off potential buyers. Also unknown history considering many are bought with hella mods. Can't carfax or VIN history them.
I mean for $60K if they sell I can see a 10k-15k profit. Does anyone know how much owners are actually paying "all in cost"

You're not actually making much profit. They thought they were going to until costs starts racking up. Some of them listed are really just trying to break even now. I was actually thinking of doing it, then realize not that many people gonna dump 60k on a v spec. People don't even know what's the difference between v spec and regular, and there's a huge price difference. Grade 4+ gt-r, even regular edition is 30k+ just on car price. Then factor in shipping, duties, taxes, car modifications to BC standard, easily pushes the car to 45-50k. V-specs adds another 10-15k. Other limited editions ones just skyrockets. Many listed on CL are R grades or 3, 3.5's and they still have a high car price.
This is why I ditched importing a R34, even just the Gtt and got an evo 6 instead.

both of these cars have been discussed here before on RS, so do a search if you want to find out more about them. also has been discussed on gtrcanada.com. both cars have been at the thursday meets as well so you can look there for pics. the owner of the yellow one is here on RS so you can ask him if you want to know more about his car.
