I'll probably consider an R34 GT-T sedan, but then again the JZX100 Chaser/Mark II are already trickling over. It's a tough call for me since I love both cars.

seeing how the R35 market value is......
R35 pricing should clash with R34 pricing... making the R35 very "affordable" :P

Are you jelling?
What are the plans for the DOT headlights and stuff? Can you go to offshore companies and plan with them with a used R34 OEM headlight and make something out of that? I don't know how to get them DOT approved though.
I'm sure that beats the crap out of force fitting some Accord lights like the R32 back then. Some good profit can be had selling just one batch of those imo. Plastic headlights really not worth much and you don't need impeccable quality it's just for the inspection.

Plastic headlights really not worth much and you don't need impeccable quality it's just for the inspection. | The R34 headlight housing is SAE
if you replace the bulbs to SAE/DOT that helps.
the lens is clear and doesn't alter the beam pattern. So You can technically use them to pass with some shops.
Not all thou, because the beam still points in the RHD fashion. If they check the headlight pattern it will fail.

Has anyone considered importing early and not registering until 15 years? Perhaps importing when the car is 13.5 years old. The prices of used cars take a plunge until they hit 15 years in Japan so they get imported to the Americas and we can think about bringing them in early before prices rise?

I don't think I'd get into a RHD again for a little while, especially if it's a lowered sports car. Making left turns in my current car is scary enough as it is in Abbotsford..when you can't see over the guy in the opposite left turning lane..

Your 13.5year old car is not allow to enter the country at all unless it's for off-road use. Again, once the car is deem for off-road used, it can never be register.
Btw, it's nearly impossible for to legitimately import an off-road use vehicle unless for a private individual.

B, Canada is the only country in North america Japan can normally export to. We have the 15 year rule, USA has a 25 year rule. We have much more buying power than USA. So we are the only market for them out here, not USA.

Btw, it's nearly impossible for to legitimately import an off-road use vehicle unless for a private individual. | Condemning a car with being unable to ever register it ever again never stopped anyone. Case in point, a car that ICBC writes off as "parts only" will have the vin plate swapped from a car that can be registered. I can think of at least one car that is currently like that Posted via RS Mobile |

More than one...
More than one road going R34 in BC right now too, though there is nothing the feds can do about them. Before they tightened the noose, there were ways to get them through without any modifications.

> Strip R34's in Japan
> Ship the chassis over, not as a car, but as parts of a car (on paper)(missing the vin plates, stamped vin numbers destroyed)
> Register the chassis as a kit car and get it approved by an engineer
> Bring over the parts individually
> Source seperate RB26 (essential)
> Put the car back together
> Insure & drive
People took a lot of risks for grey market cars. The only catch was that they would never be "R34's" again, because of the kit car claim.
