People took a lot of risks for grey market cars. The only catch was that they would never be "R34's" again, because of the kit car claim. | That was certainly one way to do it, yes. There are other legal ways of bringing over a car that's not legal in Canada, but as stated, it has to either be deemed to be an off-road vehicle or a shop-sponsored vehicle to showcase. In the latter case, it can only be in Canada for a certain amount of time before it has to be sent away, however.

I'm pretty sure it's a grey market "kit car." The thread about it a while ago on here talked about the shop being pretty tight lipped on how it was brought over.

Its a bitter subject for all that was involved because the people who helped arrange it lost a lot of money and a lot more time.
Its obviously not worth it now, but trying the same approach is not possible any more. the same connections are not possible. It can not be done.
Who cares thou, its not like any one of us are willing to spend tens of thousands of dollars for every step this process took, the years of pain, and having the whole thing scrutinized by almost every ICBC/DOT/RIV official known to us. We still have to commend them on all their hard work, because they did do it. Risked a lot doing so might I say.

I think one of the hot topics about that car was the fact that it was selling for some ridiculous price "to be exclusive", which people were like...yeah for maybe 3 years and then it'll be as common as a corolla lol

Ah...the R34 GTR. My dream car. Alas, I don't think I'll be able to afford one in 2 years, but maybe the R32 prices will drop more so I can get another. I miss my R32 GTR everyday, made me so happy. Made a tough life decision and had to let it go.
Enjoy some photos

Am I crazy for wanting the Nissan Stagea 260RS WGNC34 with a GTR cosmetic conversion over an R34 GTR?
