I'm just wondering?

Short answer... They're still selling cars in Canada.

The simplest google search would've answered your question. But noooo you had to make a new thread.

Suzuki really needs to jump the bandwagon for this segment.

In short, they are still making vehicles for export to Canada, but as a North American business venture in terms of production, they are defunct.

I think with Suzuki USA out of the picture, Suzuki Canada will probably start to bring in JDM cars. our market is not big enough for Suzuki of to actually go out of their way to make one-off Canadian market vehicles. just make a LHD version of what they got off the shelf, and away they go.

Either JDM or EuroDM. Or they'll just pull out altogether. Economies of scale might make it inefficient, and Suzuki's been dying here anyways.

Update:

Suzuki to stop selling autos in Canada | Transportation | News | Financial Post

Quote:
Suzuki Canada Inc. will no longer sell automobiles in Canada after model year 2014, following a similar move announced in the U.S. last November.

The Japanese automaker said Tuesday it would be realigning its business operations in Canada to focus instead on its motorcycle, all-terrain vehicle and marine division.

“[Suzuki has] been monitoring market conditions carefully and, after reviewing the long-term viability of automotive production for Canada, [Suzuki Motor Corp.] concluded that it was no longer feasible for it to produce automobiles for distribution and sale in the Canadian market,” the company said in a statement.

Suzuki sold nearly 5,500 vehicles in Canada last year, down three percentage points from the year before. Those declining numbers came despite overall auto sales in Canada improving nearly 6% year-over-year in 2012, according to figures from DesRosiers Automotive Consultants.

Suzuki held roughly same market share as Volvo at 0.3% of overall sales in the country in 2012, DesRosiers’ figures show.

Suzuki’s sales have, however, tumbled nearly 30% in the first two months of 2013, far outpacing the declines of the broader market at nearly 3%.

Suzuki Canada’s [SCI] decision to halt auto sales in Canada follows a similar decision last November in the U.S. after the American Suzuki Motor Corp. filed for Chapter 11 protection in the face of dwindling sales and high foreign exchange.

That's disappointing. I honestly think they could have stemmed some of their bleeding by importing their small cars over here.

Yup, I just read this on clubsx4.

Figures since my Suzuki dealer turned into a Mitsubishi dealer not so long ago.

I like Suzukis. They make quality vehicles. (The real ones built in Japan, none of the fake Daewoo-built "Suzuki Swift+" junk.)

So many things they could have done to better themselves. Such as bring over the real swift and/or advertise.

Oh well.

a shame, as their cars are actually not bad. I remember the Aerio back then, it was pretty decent..

I looked at the kizashi in person recently, and theyre quite nice.

It was bound to happen, their products are decent but if you're a small player in a competitive market your products better be extraordinary and significantly better priced, unfortunately they were neither. Toyota will always get away with making a very average product like that but that isn't an option for little old suzuki.

IMO the next company will be Volvo, they used to be great and had a well established/very loyal niche customer base, but they went and alienated that group by trying to make "sporty" cars that inevitably came up short next to the big dogs like BMW.
Most of the models Volvo sells in Canada are over 6 years old and were not competitive even when they were brand new.

...and the cars that Suzuki did sell were all small and there is no profit in small cars.

I totally agree that Volvo is next, and after that...Mazda. Mazda won't die, but i can see a day when they need a buy out.

The Mazda 3 sells very well and the CX5 is not doing bad either. The Mazda 6 has been getting excellent reviews too. The new Miata is supposed to be lighter than the outgoing model and better than ever. They are really pushing the skyactive marketing and it seems to be working out, I think if Mazda keeps it up they should be just fine.

It's a shame. I feel like Suzuki actually would have more to offer if they reorganized their North American operations and brought more appealing offerings overseas to us.

Alas, looks like I'll never get my hands on those pretty Swifts. Hell, I'd even rock a Solio or a Cervo. Suzukis sell like hotcakes in Japan, it's truly a shame they never properly dealt with the North American market.
