I am looking to get a pair of pipes welded in place of mufflers. I don't wanna get these grapes-like welding job nor would I pay a Maserati craftsman's price. Anyone got good words about these guys?

Mike the welder at Custom Metalcraft has 20yrs experience welding/fabricating.

Go by the shop, you won't be disappointed.

Unit F- 1681 Langan Ave Poco

Just down the street from Euro Otto, and a few blocks past Racing Greed (also good guys)

I can vouch for them. I had them install my air ride and notch my frame. They did a great job. I found them through other forums members who recommended them as well.

I also have been there multiple times, but back when it was called "Muffler Tech", and all they did was exhaust work. Great work, knew their stuff.

I will say this: I was never crazy about the owner (Ryan?) and his customer service, especially when he started getting into mechanical repairs as well. Anyime I had my vechicle in the shop, he would always be a bit pushy about 'specials' they were having on various repairs/services.

Normally I dont mind this type of courteousy service, but when I decline to have the work done, I don't appreciate attitude or being treated like I don't give a shit about my vehicle, and like I'm somehow wasting their time... I came to you for exhaust work, not for you to tell me my brake fluid looks a bit dirty and could use a flush. Why are you looking under the hood, when I came to you to fix an exhaust hanger on my muffler?

My last expeirence with them was not a great one, and is mainly because of the owner, Ryan, and his handling of an issue I had (not the one I mention above). I'll spare the details, but I was less than impressed. Again, their work was good, I just don't like dealing with arrogant people.

+1 on the shit service from muffler tech.

I don't care how good of a work a shop does,if the owner or the staff are arrogant and have poor customer service, why deal with them,it's not like they are the only place in town.

Ryan also had a dislike for import owners as well, but he loved anyone who drove a domestic though.

I had super shitty service at muffler tech. The owners a douche. The tech did a quality job at least but fuck them.

Yeah, he sure doesn't like imports, that's for sure. I had him do a few different cars (all imports) before my Jeep, and you could just tell it wasn't his thing. It's not like I was having stupid fart cannons installed either, or even cheap fixes. They were header back systems that cost me an arm and a leg.

Get him talking about one of the many domestics or Hot Rod that were typically in the shop, and his face lit up.

There are far too many shops out there capable of doing just as good -and better!- work than them. Most much more eager and willing for your business.
