I've noticed my S4 really slowing down lately. It lags like crazy when I'm trying to type text messages and when using Swype. Ever since I updated firmware it sucks. Any ideas? My phone is pretty darn empty. I have very few apps and never run bluetooth/wifi etc. I have a lot of photos but that's about it.
I was thinking to back everything up and reset the phone.

has anyone brought their samsung to the repair center in Richmond before? can you just walk in and drop it off ?
do they lend you a temp phone to use ?
asking this because Rogers sends all their defective phones to them anyways so me bringing it their will be much faster

Since the update, the muti-window feature (the little tab that always on the screen for easy switching) will sometimes disappear, even though I haven't turned it off. Easy fix, I go in, turn it off, then back on again, but there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.
4.2 seemed just fine, or at least better than 4.3...

I have a i9508, a China version of the S4, and the only difference between it and a Google Play Edition is the radio, all hardware are the same.
There are however no custom roms available for the i9508.
Can I download a custom rom for i9505, delete the radio from the rom, then flash the rom onto my i9508?

only took 2 business days so it's much faster than having rogers ship it..they estimate like 7-10 business days.

i don't think they even take appointments
don't need to pay anything if its still under warranty, but they do not provide loaner phones so you might wanna grab a backup phone from somewhere

So I soft-bricked my i9508, and it wasn't actually from a custom rom, it was when I was trying to restore the firmware through Odin.
I flashed CM i9505 and it actually worked, albeit some bugs here and there, but when I tried to restore the firmware, it failed in Odin.
What's working now is Download mode and TWRP recovery.
Besides the sponsor JP Cellular, is there anyone you guys can recommend that I can take to the fix the phone?

crystal mall? I got my fix there when same thing happen to me....... Uusally it takes them maybe an hour? I went when they are closing so I have to go back next day to pick up my phone.

anyone with bell have shitty reception? My reception bar is always at 1 bar when i'm at home. I can't receive text or call until i text or call someone which bring my bar up to full bar for a couple mins and then it drop back to one again. So if someone were to text me i wont' get it until i text them. Then all their text will all show up at once.
Edit: nvm. fixed, it seem i can't use LTE inside my house. Have to switch the connection to WCDMA/GSM and im at full bar again. Weird that it never happen before. Must be the gay 4.3 update.
