Donation Challenge 2013 - Official Discussion Thread

Revscene has challenged some other car forums to donate to a couple of good causes this year.

We're competing against B.C. Hondas, B.C. DSM, B.C. Mazda 3, and Vancouver Underground in donating to the food and blood banks throughout 2013. We'll all be showing our donation numbers at the end of each quarter to see where we're at, and to make sure we're donating throughout the year (not just lumped in a few times a year when we feel like getting together).

Like last year we're gonna be collecting non-perishable food items at our st0ck & n00b meets, Spring & Summer meets, and organizing other unofficial meets to get together and donate as well. Also, and thanks to Roach from BCMazda3 for reminding me of this, you can donate cash to the food bank and they can buy $3 worth of food for every $1 donated.

We also want to get a few blood bank donation days happening so we can donate as a group.

If you guys have any ideas on where else to donate, what else we should do, and what other clubs might be interested discuss them here.
We may have a year to get this done but lets not wait until the end to get started!

How are we doing compared to our friendly competitors?

I guess BCMazda3.com will be the first to put their ring in the hat:

The results of cash and food donations from our January and February 2013 events:

On the scale

The wooden pallet itself weights 80lbs per the food bank staff member.

The result:

349.5 - 80 = 269.5 lbs of food!

A huge thanks to all the members of BCMazda3 for stepping up to contribute to a great cause!

Kev
