Happened a few days ago but just thought I'd post this up..."Break My Window"

This happened on December 31st, that day I had woken up early and headed out to buy breakfast and got home at around 6am, I live around the ESSO at Westminster and Garden City. I was going to head out in a few hours so I thought I'd just park my car at the visitor parkings inside my townhouse complex, so I went in, had my breakfast, and got ready to head out.

Approximately 8:45am, I called my buddy and made sure he was ready to head out and I left the house at 9:10am and walked towards my car only to see my car like this with the centre compartment on my drivers door searched.

My ipod was stolen, that morning I coincidentally forgot to take my wallet and bring it in the house with me,, it was in the centre compartment (it was no where in sight), that's gone along with $600 cash inside the wallet, and a few lighters.

My New Years Eve ruined, I had to deal with this issue, and it being NYE, no body shop was open, and with my wallet stolen I had no cash, card, id, nothing on me.
Luckily thank you Advantage Collision for opening for an hour just to take my car in and providing me with a courtesy car.

What has Richmond become, I miss the days when Richmond was peaceful and nearly crime free.

The box of smokes were empty.

My wallet was in my car only because when I went out to buy breakfast my sweats had no pockets, so I kept it in the center console storage compartment. And I usually don't leave it in my car.

You made a mistake, we all make mistakes, let this be a lesson to anyone else reading.

Whatever you are wearing, whoever you are with, take your valuables with you and leave the storage compartments open.

It's so easy to overlook in a rush, but please, just put in that extra bit of effort to make sure that everything is out.

if you leave stuff in sight, you're asking for it and you're providing the opportunity for that criminal. regardless of what the crime rates are, you have a responsibility to not leave your stuff lying around

do you leave your front door unlocked at night when you sleep and put your valuables (watch, TV, laptop, jewelry) by the window sill? put your stuff away, people

It amazes me how many people still leave not only their valuables, but their wallets FULL OF CASH in their car. Leaving an ipod, gps, and/or sunglasses is one thing, but your wallet????? Your wallet should be on you at ALL times.

You live in the Katsura/Ferndale area?

I feel your pain, bro!

My car was broken into just a couple months back. They took 2 small boxes of granola bars, $20 sunglasses, and an empty cologne bottle.

My damage

I had one break in in Richmond, one was at Lansdowne mall, parked for not even 10 minutes, come back out and my window was smashed. My doors were unlocked prior too!

Another break in was around the Williams and 5 road area.
My car was parked in the residential area.
Window got smashed again and the guy tried to steal my car but shit out of luck cause my transmission was shot at the time. In the end he end up stealing my mechanic gloves

A few years back when I lived in Richmond, I came down at 2am to grab a pack of smokes in my condos underground parking when I noticed a leg hanging out my front passenger door. I grabbed a hockey stick that was leaning against the wall and snuck up to my car and slammed the door on the guys leg. The idiot screamed in pain. Called 911 and gave my address. The guy tried running but could barely walk. I just followed him while talking to he 911 operator. Police showed up and cuffed his ass. Fuck I hate thieves!

^ Yeah I woke up one morning looked out my window at 8am and some guy was in my passenger seat going through my car. I ran out, he started running down the road, I caught up and knocked him out. Held him down till the cops came. Forgot to lock the car this one night somehow.

They will break into ur car for no reason. My friend left his Civic in my care cause he was out of town for 3 weeks and didn't want his dipshit step brother scratching the car. I detailed it for him while he was gone and it was all nice and shiny and clean with nothing in the car showing.

I stayed at my girlfriend's over night and it was broken into, and the shitty thing it that was the day my buddy was back in town. There was NOTHING in the car in sight. He had a broken GPS in the glove box and that was the only thing that the thief took.

Lent my buddy my car for the day and I drove my gf's car while we waited for the glass to come in for the Civic.

Are people nowadays illiterate or something?

Firstly, What part of I did not intentionally leave my wallet in my car do they not get?
I'm not saying it was not a mistake to leave it in there, but it's not like i left it there for them to steal.

Secondly, what part of it was no where in sight do they not get? It was in the centre storage compartment. I even fucking put it in brackets.

They tend to like to steal empty cologne bottles, lol. They stole my empty bottle of Armani Code also, and my North Face Jackets.

And yeah, ironically both of us are BMW's, and grey/metallic.

I moved to Port Moody from Kelowna and had warm welcoming.

The first day of living there, just went grocery shopping. Terrible pic but you can see my dvd player. 3 months old.

The next morning on the way to work i notice the window.

He didnt take the ipod touch in the glove box even though it was rummaged through and my shift knob or power inverter but he did manage to steal my double din which was $500ish and left me with a $340 window bill and the feeling of being violated. Fucking losers.

I fucking hate junkies! About a month back, my friend parked his car at my house overnight and a bum jimmied the window open and stole his deck. My surveillance cameras caught him doing it as well, guy was in and out in the matter of minutes. My friend didn't want to claim it since it was worth less than his deductible so i didn't file a police report (laziness on my part). If i ever see this bum, I'm going to give him a nice ass whopping!
