When I was driving on Kauai, they had the nicest reflectors on the ground. It was pouring rain, and nearly dark, but the lines were really clear. That said, the entire island probably has less lines than a fraction of Vancouver's downtown core. And they're also the same island who thinks it's a sustainable idea to lay down cones everyday to switch one of the lanes on the main road to go the opposite direction during rush hour. Everyday.

I can't drive my car down 4th from fir to about vine anymore in the right lane. This is after raising my coils 1.5 inches, and going from 215/35/18 to 205/55/16s. So going up about 2.2 inches altogether. I hit my fucking subframe HARD just before arbutus. I know they are starting construction on 4th soon so I hope they fix this trash.

I was driving a car from work in the summer and I felt like I was gonna go airborne when I went through that section (4th and Fir)

best example for me would be eastbound hwy1 right just after the kensington exit. it used to be just an enjoyable wavy part of the highway... had to put that on because i'm watching it as i type lol

now there's three mounds of asphalt that aren't even smoothed out. 6 hard thumps...and i'm on 195/65/14 winter tires...

Its honestly twice as bad now. Once I put the coils back down and summers on I won't even be able to go near 4th if they don't fix a lot of it.

Yeah I wasn't sure if it was just me realizing it, or if it had always been like that. But the road conditions are seriously becoming really bad. Not only potholes, but sunken manhole covers as well. I have to keep swerving back and forth to avoid these and if i dont swerve, then THUMP. Especially in Vancouver.

Mr Robertson seems its better to keep the bike lanes maintained anf FUCK the drivers. I get so pissed off and its a headache whenever I drive. That's why I don't like to drive my car around anymore.

I drive on Canada Way a lot potholes and sunken manhole covers everywhere.

Now ICBC is doing an investigate if this will be covered. It's ridiculous when the city doesn't put up signs and such about dangers on the road. There definitely should be an insurance you can buy through ICBC that covers these kind of accidents, especially in a highly constructive city in BC as of the last few years.
The city warning of potholes is one thing, but it's not the city's job to warn others if debris falls off a random truck!

In my opinion, ICBC should cover the damages, but the victims will have to pay the deductible unless they can find the truck driver where the debris came from - just like a hit-and-run claim.

That is one massive pothole, I'm shocked the city of Richmond hasn't patched it yet.

Our roads aren't that bad compared to other big cities. Toronto is the worst, they have massive potholes on their freeways, imagine how dangerous it is when you smoke a pothole doing 90+.

I have yet to experience this, but I believe you can get the city to reimburse for damages if you can somehow convince the city was negligent. It's not easy but not impossible. If you guys ever hit a pothole and suffer damage, the most important thing is going back to the pothole and take photos of it as soon as possible to help prove your case.

Don't hesitate to report potholes to the city. The City of Vancouver is usually quite responsive to pothole complaints. A couple times I've reported a pothole and found it is usually repaired within a week. I've actually even reported one using Twitter (@cityofvancouver) and they were quite helpful and quick to get back to me.

The ones on the bridges are more concerning because it's the Province who maintains them along with those Mainroad Contracting losers.

There used to be a MASSIVE pothole near Kensington and Thomas, right as you get off the overpass. Could have sworn that the truck almost ripped it's self a new asshole.
