hong kong: wtb automotive curtains

I am looking to buy cheap curtains for my wife's car. I am not necessarily looking for junction produce or anything expensive. I just need a point in the right direction if there's any place ASIDE from mongkok or AP Liu street. Those are the only two I know; if anyone has knowledge of any other places please let me know, thanks a lot!

Most ppl will go to mongkok, hak po street, since theres block and blocks of auto stores but you already know that.

Theres this one store that carries accessories as well is in Ma On Shan. If you get there by train, exit out the mall and across the park where theres a 7-11... You will see a auto store.

But chances are these accessories are found more in mongkok.

Cheers!

I would never go to either place. They buy all their stuff from China and mark it up 3-4 times higher. taobao is where I bought all the stuff and shipped to my place in HK

eBay?

taobao.com is not a bad idea, really really cheap stuff

and ship it back to Hong Kong? Why would you fail my helpful comment?

CP.AR 01-14-2013 11:52 PM

why the hell would you ship car accessories back to Hong Kong

noventa 01-15-2013 06:03 AM

well fuck, what do you expect from people half way around the planet?

E-DA9 01-15-2013 06:19 AM

Thanks for all your replies, guys.

I do live in Vancouver, however I am currently in HK for a couple months. I was under the impression they would be cheaper here in HK, hence I raise the question. However, if they are fairly cheap in Vancouver (Lordco), then I may as well get them back home.

@ noventa, would you be so kind as to elaborate on what is available at lordco exactly?

Here I notice it can be just a metal rail, cut to size, folded 'curtain fabric', attached via curtain links. (I am actually looking for an actual store that sells exactly this and can provide what I request if I give a measurement or a car model, etc)

As i said I am not looking for something elaborate like a VIP style set, just something that will serve its purpose of covering a breast feeding session, for example. The car does already have tinted windows so half the job is already done. But if i can add extra privacy for cheap cheap that is what I am looking for.

Thanks everyone for your input.

Given the close proximity to China (where it's most likely made), I would expect products to be slightly cheaper.

However, (as OP has probably found out by now), automobile window curtains are not that cheap in Hong Kong afterall. They cost around ~CAD $100 and up depending on the types of material used, and number/size of your windows. Most of them take at least 1-4 weeks turn around time, and get sent down from China. Rarely....will you find an automobile accessory shop with them in stock.

As asian_XL has pointed out, getting them either from Taobao or directly from China sources might be even cheaper. Especially when these local shops won't have them in stock immediately and you won't be needing installation from them.

make em? Its not hard to stitch up some curtains with a cheap used sewing machine.
