As an E93 owner, SMFH at this entire fucking garbage this owner is trying to peddle. https://vancouver.craigslist.org/van...236659899.html - $15k for a pre-LCI E93 is wack, so is $10k plus trade.
- A 335i is not a collector car
- 6spd is not really that rare for an E93
- Optional woodgrain is literally the most undesirable interior trim
- The 335i couldn't be any further from any sense of the word exotic
- BMWs are not an investment
- E93 tops are leaky sieves even if you spend jesus-tier almighty lord amounts of time and effort on maintenance, they leak way more than any equivalent soft top
- New oil change and new recent battery and water pump, as opposed to old oil change and old recent battery and water pump?
- Charcoal filters are not exotic
Jesus fucking christ.

LOLOL I saw that ad last night and I couldn't agree with you more. And an E93 is not a "collector car." Reading it I didn't get all worked up and post it up here (like I did about the Esprit I posted up a couple of weeks ago). All of the fatherly advice about what to look out for in the ad is irritating, especially as it's somewhat nonsense. That's great that you lubed your top, now what about the HPFP and injectors and VCG and OFHG and oil pan gasket and turbo wastegates? Someone on here once described (accurately) the N54 engine as a hand grenade with the pin pulled out. Quote:

That one has been for sale for years just like that 135i no dealers bs. Didn't know the top was horrible, I sort of wanted a 328 manual vert for the summer. I thought the hard top would be better than a soft top. I drove a 335 e93 and there's only a slight bit of rattles

I believe the hard tops are finicky, at least I know the F33 is. I can't imagine the E93 being easier to deal with.

Jesus fucking christ. | A manual convertible is a lot more rare than you'd think - for the simple reason that literally nobody wanted one when they were new, and nobody wants one now. We used to sell these cars and I remember once we took a flier on a mint black/black 6spd 335 convertible and it sat FOREVER while we rolled through identical automatics like it was going out of style.
Like even in coupes, 50% of the market either doesn't care about 6spd or can't drive stick. The idea that somebody wants the "performance" of a 6spd (bit of a misnomer) but also a convertible is just a fundamental mismatch.

When it starts to rattle or squeak, that's when you know it's time to lube up all the joints and seals. I do that around 4x a year. Quote:

The annoying thing is they tend to get out of alignment for whatever reason, and only BMW dealers have the top alignment tool. The servicing cost for a top is pretty insane. IMO that's the primary reason why the tops leak as much as they do, not necessarily because of worn seals. That and drains getting plugged with debris. Quote:

-Mark | When I bought mine, I knew I wanted a convertible, and there just happened to be one that was 6spd so it was a no brainer for me. Makes things twice as fun during summer. I bought mine from an old Hungarian lady who said Europeans don't like driving automatics lol.

That 335i is just "NO LOWBALLERS I KNOW WHAT I GOT" with extra steps. His tone is like he's doing YOU a favor by listing that car. He just doesn't want to sell it.

Why would you get a sunroof on your evo?
They did a special roof for the Evo version of the Lancer to lower the center of gravity. A sunroof just ruins that.
I'd also be a little wary of the duel clutch box with that many km on it. Back in 2010 when I bought mine they were saying it was a non-serviceable part. If you launch hard often it's gonna be stupidly expensive to replace.

In the RS every one in Canada came with the sunroof, but in the us it was an option.

I think that was the premium one. Fully loaded so it has the sst. Cuz the sst 0 to 60 is faster than the manual and it's 6 speed vs 5.

Worked at Mitsu when the X launched. SST was a great transmission when it was working correctly, very expensive to fix if not. Problem is it was designed for the factory power rating, and evos are rarely left alone.
The Lancer Ralliart in those model years had the same tranny too.

$41k for a trans swapped R34 GTT with a badly painted body kit and electrical harnesses held out of the way with masking tape. This better be a fail or Skyline fanboys have completely lost their minds. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...fined&refid=12
