However, it is sold out. I think a lot of folks are using their spare time now to complete garage projects.

Asked this guy what he wanted for just the engine and transmission and he said $3,500 hahaha fuck better be the whole rolled over car for that price buddy

Honestly better off with a 1/3UZ swap with R154 at that point. lol

Only diff between auto/manual 3S Beams blacktop is comp ratio and Ti Valves. Allegedly.

There’s a clean titled entire car for sale in Edmonton for $5k with 80,000kms on it... $3,500 for a motor is pretty up there.

Tones of engine + tranny combos available in the USA too (WA state) for about $1500usd

I’ve been low key looking for one for a swap into a classic Ford I have... cuz I like making purists upset hahaha

Did you guys notice the left side body lines line up fine when the front bags are up, and then the cab drops an inch lower than the bed when the front is aired out...

For me, sitting in it, you can't beat the greenhouse space it just feels fantastic to sit in/see out of and it's luxurious + sporty + smooth and pretty bulletproof. Both of mine have been stone axe reliable. Extremely positive feedback from steering and all pedals.

It provides an experience you can't buy anymore driver-feel wise and it's a pretty iconic car from the JDM lore side of things and, personally, I think the styling has aged really well.

This makes me miss my IS very much. I miss the feel and reliability. I wonder if the current owner is on here.

Wait... what classic ford do you have?? Go fox body 2.3L with the volvo twin-cam head. Better than a cosworth motor for 10% the cost, and loves boooooost

Well I have a 68 Mustang hence my username but that’s not the one I’m referring to... I also have a 1974 Ford Capri that my dad owned since new... its ultra rare here but unfortunately came out in an era of pollution control gimmicks and features a 2.8 V6 that puts out like 109hp or something dreadful like that... on the forums most owners are bigtime boomers and go the 5.0 route, but in my opinion that just turns it into another Mustang with a big lump in the front... so I thought something light and high revving and NA was more appropriate to the spirit of the car given its European heritage, rear wheel drive and only weighing about 2,200lbs...

I have seen some guys do the 2.3 turbo and at least one is working on the EcoBoost motor tho

34 as of 2021. No one had a IS in highschool. Only fancy cars was that chick who was all plastic and drove a ML55/CLK55 to school.

68style 01-16-2021 11:24 PM

Maybe he heard that shouting makes a $5k car worth $12k?

headhunt3r 01-16-2021 11:37 PM

Lowered to $10k, but still hasn't come off whatever drugs he's on.

I don't know how practical it would be but I'm going to suggest a sho swap to keep it a Ford (yamaha) v6... Or the sho v8.

No idea how hard it is to convert to transverse though

Funny you said it, I have a SHO engine and bought it with the same thought in mind... there’s ways to get it to work with a T5 and I think the Aerostar bell housing?? There a local 240Z using a SHO engine with a Vortech supercharger but that engine is insanely tall being DOHC with that crazy intake... it didn’t look like it would clear the stock hood and I’m not one to put a scoop on or something lol...

I’m also now concerned about future maintenance almost anything connected to the SHO engine is NLA from Ford these days so it’s a bit dubious that way too......

How much maintenance stuff do you really need from Ford though? The ancillary stuff is usually made by and available from third party companies so I would think you wouldn't have to rely on Ford for much once you have it all together.

Sometimes oem is nice. My old focus SVT, the clutch was discontinued 2 years after they sold the car. So if you wanted a new clutch you had to go aftermarket, with a new pressure plate and flywheel to match.
