I know the seller. ICBC told him it was worth that much.

I’m not defending the ask, just saying that’s likely where the number came from.

lol they will pay more in tax than the fucking thing would have been to buy new, including tax.
But I am curious, what avenue is someone using to get valuations from icbc.

I swear that the used car market is like NTFs, with ridiculous pricing that no one would buy.

I'm 90% sure someone at ICBC just fat figured in a 21-window bus or something. There are more variations of those cars than Omega Speedmasters.

ICBC doesn’t give valuations like that, he was probably talking to someone who works there who was talking completely out of their ass and now he’s taking it as gospel instead of just clicking the search button on a couple auction sites for a reality check.

I was scammed by a broker one time on my GSXR. I didn't notice until the following year they set a crazy high declared value that I paid for coverage on. I asked about it when I went to renew, they kept passing the buck, contact that agent.

How are agents at the broker getting values these days? Is it not ICBC and the blue book or whatever the fuck they use?

The book only goes back to 2000, so for anything prior to that you can literally say you paid anything you want. It's honesty policy for older vehicles.

A great way to ask offensive prices is just lie about getting that valuation somewhere lol.

Rebuilt status, and based on him also selling a rebuilt 4runner I'm guessing his story for selling is bullshit. He's hoping people don't notice the rebuilt title.
