Transmission Issues with Mitsubishi Endeavor

I got an '04 Endeavor with approx 150,000 km on it. Took it in the shop today and found out I will need a new transmission. The car can barely run now.

Factory transmission costs approx $9000 but my car is worth around $6000. Thinking of getting rid of my car. Thinking of ripping the car apart and selling the parts.

Any suggestions?
