Honda's returning with McLaren most likely and I don't know why they aren't coming in 2014 instead of 2015(Contract obligations between McLaren and Merc?) but once they arrive in 2015, they'll most likely be a step behind since most engine manufacturers will have data on their new engines and the team would be able to build a car around it. Also if Merc knows that McLaren aren't gonna resign with them than I'm pretty sure they'll be withholding as much data as possible from McLaren next year. |
Yes, but Honda will have no test restrictions (huge plus!), since they're not officially supplying for F1 in 2014, plus Mclaren can pass engine info from the Merc unit over to Honda when the time comes. Honda will most likely supply two teams (I believe Cosworth is leaving)....should be exciting. Can't wait to see Mclaren Honda back :toot: http://www.f1fanatic.co.uk/wp-conten..._1990_1024.jpg |
I can't wait! Exciting news, I wonder who are the sponsors going to be Also maybe 2015 has something to do with the new NSX? Posted via RS Mobile |
I'm already excited for 2014, I like that the engines will mix things up a bit. The engine freeze on these V8's is making F1 a bit "nascar/IRLesque" I just hope they sound good. |
Found this cool video, showing how much F1 cars have actually progressed in 25 years: Even though the V6 turbo's of '86 had probably double the horsepower of today's N/A V8's, 22 seconds faster today in Monaco is pretty insane. |
It's official! Honda will be teaming up with McLaren It was twitted 12min ago=p |
Heres another souce that confirms Honda confirms F1 return and McLaren engine deal for 2015 | Vodafone McLaren Mercedes News | Formula 1 Teams | Sky Sports |
^^^^ Awesome so Glad that Honda is interested but I was hoping they would be developing their own engine :/ Hopefully they'll consider grabbing kobayashi as a driver was soo fucking worried thinking mercedes were going to do well at the race even though those around me said likely not was glad with the result and glad about getting a hotel around several colleges :fullofwin: |
so McLaren Honda is officially coming back |
Hopefully McLaren builds the 2nd gen McLaren F1. This time without compromising with BMW engine. |

bah hate seeing mercedes qualifying so well :okay: |
its gonna be an interesting race, let see if they can stay up front this time around. LOL at Massa, gonna starting from the back? |
I can't stand the yellow flags over a drizzle of rain; what's going to happen tomorrow if it actually rains they going to stop the race? can't stand this safety beyond all else, let the drivers make that decision they can drive slower/keep out of the way of those who are willing and capable of racing as for the race given the track and history of the race i wouldnt be surprised if one or both of them make the podium I hope not though :D |
Monaco is relatively easier on the tires so it won't be as hard for Mercedes to stay up front even if they have a slower pace...seems super super super hard to pass too The start and the pit stops will be key key key It'll be interesting to see how many stops they do and if it rains..... |
Agree upon the tire management part. reading some of the reports by Pirelli, looks like an expected avg of two stops/driver. Last year's race was won by Webber with 1 pit-stop, so yeah definitely crucial. 5am race, so much excite :drunk: |
I honestly hope Webber wins it.... Vettel can suck on it |
Rosberg Triple crown! You heard it here first! Pole, P1, Fastest lap! |
You mean, take pole and then get overtaken within the first 5 laps? :troll: |
C'mon Rosberg, at least get a podium! :okay: Posted via RS Mobile |
