Can't wait to see the changes in drivers this year and although I really will miss Schumacher I think this might be one of the best seasons yet

beproud 01-28-2013 05:21 PM

Go mclaren! It's going to be a crazy season eh. It's all up to Jenson button

I am really excited... I have been watching since 1992... but my GF is a much bigger fan than I am.

Eff-1 01-28-2013 07:25 PM

Weren't they going to change the regulations so that teams could no longer do that dramatic "step" in the middle of the nose with the hopes of making the cars less ugly? I think I remember reading that somewhere. Or am I on crack.

mb_ 01-28-2013 07:30 PM

It's just some cover thing that won't affect aerodynamics

They'll have to come up with a new design in 2014 I believe

Optional "Vanity" cover.

I don't know what the incentive to using it is, since it just adds weight. F1 constructors aren't exactly in the business of adding superfluous weight.

they had talked about in 2012....I found this article

I don't think all the teams will be doing it...but I am sure by 2014 they will all be gone

HonestTea 01-28-2013 11:04 PM

I CANNOT wait for the 2013 season to start! March cannot come soon enough :(

JENSON BUTTON FTW! Hope McLaren gives him a good car this year! Button to win in Melbourne :)

Side note, MIGHT be attending MONZA this year! :D :D :D

Really looking forward to 2013. I've been watching F1 since the 80s, and it got rather dull about 10-15 years ago. And then, all of a sudden, a few years back, it got super exciting again. This is a really great time to be watching F1. And the '14 season (new engines) should be interesting as well.
I'll definitely be watching all the races. And it's all in HD these days, which makes it even better :)

Lucky!

I was in Valencia for the Euro Grandprix in 09....

I am hoping this year to make it to a race...maybe Montreal/Italy/Belgium....or my dream Monaco....

tamazoid 02-02-2013 01:27 AM

Looking forward to the 2013 season! Hope it will be exciting. Hope the cars are more even. Kinda boring seeing Sebastian winning all the races.

Interesting to see how Lewis will do at Mercedes this season.

Going to be rooting for Jenson and Kimi.

Sad to see Kamui Kobyashi loose his seat. I was hoping they got rid of Romain Grosjean and Kamui takes his place.

Well I can't wait!

krazynuck 02-02-2013 11:21 AM

^ It was a little surprising that they cut Kobuashi....but I guess they like what they saw in their test driver.

Anyway pics from Sauber release today (I actually really like the look of this car)

I think Kobayashi just didn't have the financial backing to secure a seat. Him and Perez were pretty evenly matched. It's all about the money and business these days...

mb_ 02-03-2013 06:35 AM

Yeah Kobayashi didn't really have any sponsorship support and he had to rely on donations for financial backing but it wasn't enough iirc. Was hoping Force India would pick him up to team up with Di Resta but he said he'd take take break this year, hopefully we'll see him again next year.

in mclaren's case they used the extra space to move things up i think and make some extra space under the nose for more aerodynamics
