Travelling Europe tips and resources Ok so I'm planning on heading to Holland, Spain, England, Germany, and Italy .. Any suggestions on what books or resources to read about travelling light and where to travel to etc ... ? or any tips off the top of your heads ??? |
When are you going? I went last year france, italy, spain, portugal, bermuda. My bag for a month weighed ~16lbs and fit on every airline for carry on. Walmart has a travelling toiletry bag for cheap. It has all your mini bottles and clear packaging for airports. Underarmour has some good shirts that won't stink up quickly. I had a pair of pants with zip off legs so that saves some space too. I went in summer. Sunscreen is super expensive over there. Italy I highly recommend the 2 ferrari museums if you are into cars. I took maybe 250 pictures my whole trip and 200 were at the ferrari museums. It's really cool, you can see the progression of f1 cars from early until now. Looking at the cars in the 80's it's like you could make it in your garage and then seeing the modern ones is mind blowing. Saw the f1 race in spain. Booked all the hostels/trains/flights in advance and it worked out great. Saved money and was good knowing there is a reserved spot for you. |
Tripadvisor has always been a good resource for me. Good to check on attractions, see hotel ratings, etc. If you're visiting the UK, pick up a GiffGaff sim card. Best deal around for data and voice. (you can pick one of these up on eBay before you travel to the UK: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_tr...at=0&_from=R40) |
