Is there enough food and beverages to go around? I'll feed everyone I don't care, but I need to know hahah

It is propane... I was just gonna grab a couple of the little $5 cylinders, although I have the hose to hookup a big tank, if someone feels like dragging one out. If we use it up, we can always use it for target practice #redneckdeath

PinoyDrifta 03-22-2013 02:58 PM

Lol I will bring my big tank but no shooting it lol.

Who's bringing the things to grill? I'm offering to bring food for everyone because I'm a pretty alright guy (and I'm sure I'm getting my truck stuck a few times on Sunday so I'll need to get pulled out)

FML, I think I've frakked up my clutch... had to replace the master cylinder, ended up having to cut the hose where it goes on the MC fitting... now I can't get it to go back on. ARGH!

?uestlove 03-22-2013 05:40 PM

Am I going to have to go out to Pitt meadows tonight..?

Only if you know how to get the $%&#@ plastic hose to go back on the $@*$%! connector :P If you can figure that out, it might even be worth dinner.

?uestlove 03-22-2013 06:03 PM

Cen you text me a picture of what's going on? Trying to picture it in my head but I just see boobies..

Texted, not sure if it worked tho.

Barbed nipple has to go into hard plastic tube...

Those types don't you generally just have to muscle them on? Just "push until it goes in"... (I love talking about car shit)

Soundy 03-22-2013 07:11 PM

If it were only that easy... the hose just slips over the first bit and no further. It's a really hard plastic, not rubber or anything easy to push on. I tried heating it up a bit but I don't want to overdo it and melt the shit out of it.

GabAlmighty 03-22-2013 07:17 PM

I'd say maybe try and put a little lubricant on there, it's supposed to go over both so gonna have to get creative haha.

vaseline
ky jelly
wd40
grease
soap
oil
etc

?uestlove 03-22-2013 07:21 PM

Oh boy. Ok let me think about this..

In other news I picked up my posi lock so hopefully ?uestlove and I can fix the 4wd in the cummins tomorrow and I also picked up a big shackle so I can pull all you fools out of the mud.

Soundy 03-22-2013 07:30 PM

Tried a little WD40 already, no help... I don't want it too slick or it'll come right back off again the first time I push the clutch in. Softening the plastic sufficiently is all I can think of, but keeping it warm while pushing it on is eluding me.

GabAlmighty 03-22-2013 07:33 PM

Or lube it up and then put a ziptie over it and sinch it down?

?uestlove 03-22-2013 07:33 PM

I don't think it's gonna work man, the plastic thing is moulded tightly around the barbed fitting from the factory, I don't think it's as easy as just slipping it back on. I'm about to go home, I'll take a better look when I'm on my computer

Thanks. Looking at a pic on another site, it looks like the pipe on that one is almost melted into place, which is why heating it up looks promising... just have to go all out I guess.

?uestlove 03-22-2013 08:09 PM

can you take the hose out of the vehicle? if you can put the barbed fitting in a vice it might make it easier to work with. i'm thinking try getting the fitting hot, and get the plastic a little warm and lubed and use both hands to force it on.

i think if you heat up the plastic and not the fitting, you'd end up stretching the plastic over it. it needs to take the shape of the fitting so it doesn't leak

R&R 03-22-2013 08:10 PM

I got a heat gun^

If you a small section of plastic fuel line leaking can you cut out that peace and replace that section

Pressing nylon fuel lines onto barb fittings - Pelican Parts Technical BBS

the first one pretty much uses my method (heating up the fitting), the 2nd one uses your method (heating up the plastic line). heat whichever piece up and put them together like mommy and daddy

Hate to say this but I just got a call from my mom saying my grandmother might not make it past the weekend. So right now I'm going to consider myself out of this event :(
But if she starts doing better ill just head up during the day. Shouldn't be to hard to find you guys since most of you listed what your driving.
