anyone on here on mid-lower divs looking for a goalie? =D |
You can always drop your name to the league manager and when teams need a goalie they would call you. Ernie |

Sorry, but how would I go about doing that? I'm assuming just go to the contact list at a league website and just call them up? |

Came here to rant a bit, but man I hate when idiots take the chirping into the post-game and handshake. After the game, it should be all class no matter what happened on the ice. Beat a team 9-5, on the last shift some guy tries to toe drag through me and I just close my feet, take the puck, and tell him he's terrible. Chases me all over the ice trying to get me to fight, chirping etc, and in the handshake tells me to "watch your fucking back". Seriously, grow up. It's beer league. /rant |

It's over, let it go, right? I played a co-ed game in Delta, where the guys from both teams change in one room, and the girls change in the other. It was great getting changed in the beginning, before the game. The other goalie was old and not very flexible, while I was stretching on the other side of the room showing off a 22" butterfly (that's pretty wide...) I felt like I was getting in their heads. The problem came after the game. We won 5-2, and I got in their heads. Nothing douchey, just little barbs, eye contact, and making some spectacular saves. My inner Holtby came out. I call it, little Holtby. He's funny, but that's another story for another thread. At any rate, their top scorer didn't like me that night. I shut him down, and made a "nice shot" comment after stoning him on a breakaway. It was a legit compliment, but he didn't take it as such. So while our team was laughing and joking and enjoying our win, we had this other team glaring at us from the other side of the room. After about 5 minutes I made a couple buddies on the other team, giving compliments about their play and their camaraderie. But Monsieur top scorer refused to be nice. I said goodbye before I left the room, and the others reciprocated while he answered with "fuck you too". Well then..... I bid you good day sir. I said, good day. :accepted: |
[QUOTE=originalhypa;8262084]You played pretty well the other night. Got your hands back, and really started moving the puck well. Made me a little glad I wasn't in net that night with Brad May shooting for the corners. :heckno: QUOTE] Now that you say something he does look like Brad May, felt nice kinda getting my hands back at the end but wow my speed sucked. I want to try my wood stick out next time to see if I still have my rocket with it :fuckyea: |
Can anyone provide me a contact to MJ_39? Need to reply him about a game for today. |
Hey guys, random/general question: Have you organized fundraisers for jerseys/league fees before? Any success? Do's and Don't? Is it worth it? cheers, Deepak |
Pub nights are ok, just need to sell a lot of tickets and find a pub that will give you a good deal on burger/beer. Time consuming though. Don't do everyone splits the money because you will get one person not sell as many tickets as the others and everyone benefits from it. Poker nights are decent. Ernie |
