I've been doing fundraisers for 3 years now, and the most profitable is a liquor draw. Basically spend $200 on various bottles of booze, and sell tickets for the draw. 3 tickets for $5, and you'll need to sell 40 tickets to break even. That's like 4 per team member to break even. Everyone loves the chance to get a $30 bottle of Rum for $5. With 15 team members last season we made almost $1500 on the booze drive alone, and that's after taking into account the $300 in booze we offered. For league fees most guys will just pay up. But a booze drive could cut those costs by a few hundred bucks, and you don't even have to stand outside of the Save On selling apples. :p |
I'd rather just pay the league fees than fundraise for it. There's so much planning/logistics involved with fundraisers that unless the whole team is paid for, it's not worth it. For jerseys, I think it's easier to find sponsors than it is to do a fundraiser. Obviously my personal opinion. *edit - that raffle idea is pretty good. Liquor might get sticky if govt gets knowledge of it.. iPad is another good option. |
anyone looking for a goalie this long weekend? text me 7788835489. thanks! |
I played a scrimmage with a 19+ div A team last night. Talk about skill, they had me moving in net faster than I have in a long time. And man, could they ever shoot the puck. Every one of the guys had a wicked shot, and was able to place it in the corners. I played well, but as you can see my glove hand timing was a bit off. You know it's a hard shot when it bruises you through the equipment. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v2...ps3d15a413.jpg The funny thing is, I don't bruise easily at all. :woot: |
Hey I've got a quick question guys, would I be able to play as a skater if I am a goalie on the roster list of my team for Ice 604 and vice versa? I can't seem to find it on the ice604 website |
Our backup goalie plays out as well. If you're on the roster it's not an issue because you're insured. |

Time to get a new C/A! LOL. I hate those shots. I Get them too, cuz the CA's don't really cover that area enough. Another one that kills is when I get one on my blocker arm, same area but opposite side. =( |
Anyone in the upcoming fall/winter season need a backup goalie? Don't want to wait until the spring again for hockey.. I'm pretty decent :) |

That was an awesome skate hotjoint. I'm still glowing off that killer 2 pad stack. Couldn't wipe the smile off my face after that one. :D |
