where to replace cracked windshield and the process for icbc?

hi peeps, anyone know the process of getting my windshield repaired? would I make a claim with ICBC and just pay the deductible? if I have my windshield replaced, will it be a genuine honda windshield? I am asking because my oem windshield has the slight UV tint at the top and it has honda wording imprinted. Any recommendations where I should go?

I believe the windshield started cracking one day when the rain froze all over, a few weeks pass and the crack is growing and growing!

THANKS

icbc wont put a oem windshield in unless OEM is cheaper then aftermarket(NAGS). chances of OEM being cheaper then NAGS is pretty slim. you can always pay the difference to get the OEM one though if you really wanted to. NAGS glass will not have the honda imprinted into the glass. you can bring in your car to any glass express facility to have it done(kirmac glass, speedy glass just to name two) im pretty sure if you bring it to a body shop they will just defer you away to a glass shop.

Just a quick question - is there a huge difference between OEM and NAGS? In terms of quality?

^ depends

a lot of people report increased road noise after install of non-oem glass

Hit and miss, especially because the windshield is a part of the unibody design in a lot of new cars so the effects of a poor install can be magnified. If you drive a fairly common car, I wouldn't worry too much

as far as i know most NAGS glass are the "same" as OEM.. but if i ever had to replace my windshield id pay the differnce to get an OEM.

i had a co worker who has a 08 tacoma who got a NAGS windshield put it and the curve of the glass was wrong so it wouldnt sit in correctly. the glass guy kept struggling to make it work but finally gave up and realized that they made a defective glass.

hmm, i guess OEM it is, nothing beats it!
