I can't be curious as to what the series of events would look like if such a situation occurred?

The majority of you smart asses have stated that OBVIOUSLY no consequences would ensure, YET based on what officer zulutango posted, providing a cautioned statement admitting to obstructing justice and testifying before crown CAN in fact alter the degree of penalty. (although this applies to speeding tickets I'm going to guess that it doesn't for DUIs)
Seems like a lot of people are misinformed on their presumptions regarding my "stoopid" question

You're so fucking stupid it's not even funny. Tell you what, Go write a statement for them and come back in a week asking us what we think.

also, I was in the passenger seat and the police officer wanted to see my ID. I told him I don't really want to give him my ID as i don't want my name in the police report and he was saying its required by law, is this true? I don't have a criminal record so I just gave it to him
It's legal for the officer to ask and lie to ask for ID. Under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Criminal Code of Canada, you do not need to provide ID unless you are being investigated or being charged with a criminal offence, the only person in your situation required to provide ID is the person operating the car as per the Motor Vehicle Act.

Will his idea work? LOL... no... and is a waist of money and time and will most likely look more guilty in-front of the crown. And its illegal to lie to an officer, and well I actually suggest you do it anyways!, so you can learn how fucking stupid it is to KNOWINGLY let someone drive on public road when drunk.

lol, people need to chill the fuck out and just answer op's question. Everybody likes to act like a genius or a saint. This thread could have EASILY been solved in the first response, but it seems people like to add their own input and ignore the original question. Does it matter if the OP is "stupid" for getting into a drunk driver's car? He already did, and he's not even asking about that.

^This is Revscene, what the fuck did you expect?

m4k4v4li 03-21-2013 09:44 AM

except this is the police forum, specifically intended to help answer police related questions
if its in off topic or something then sure

I guess its only reasonable to expect spillover of users with 16,000 posts who feel the need to be right over the internet.

well soundy, if it makes you feel better, you're right. you couldn't be more right in the history of being right. brownie points for your e-penis and revscene cred.

dared3vil0 03-21-2013 11:09 AM

Just realized how fitting the OP's username is.

good thing you both are alive. in high school, we had a guy with his dad come in to talk about drinking and driving. the guy had a few beers and started driving. while driving, his car flipped over and killed his girlfriend. when talking to us, i remember he kept saying "i was stupid."
