Integra Owners! Hey peeps, I'm looking into getting a '98 GSR and I just have some questions for those that own or know a lot about the dc2 integra - How much are you paying for insurance? W/ how much in savings via premium? - Reliability. ie parts, maintenance - Fuel consumption. Since it's a small engine I know it should save more fuel but what do you get MPG wise? - Comfort. While it isn't no Electrolux, is it decent to drive in? Thanks in advance! Posted via RS Mobile |
$2200 annual insurance with 30% discount (with a few options, collision, under insurance, $500 deductible etc) Maintenance is cheap, very reliable. It's a Honda. Just don't go swapping a bunch of OEM parts to aftermarket and expect the same reliability. My fuel consumption avg is 9.0 L / 100km. That's on a modified B18C5 with a shorter final gear (4.785) Comfort is good. Even with a spring/shock combination. Stock should be no different than a civic's comfort level. Anything else? you compared an integra to a vacuum cleaner? |

-With 43%off insurance i was paying about $1,600 a year. -Super reliable, in 2 years only thing I had to replace was a fog light bulb and lens which had a bad seal and water was getting into. -Really good on gas, not sure the exact specs. -Comfortable car, the back seats are not spacious enough for seating family members and if you get one with leather the seats are always freezing cold compared to fabric seats. |

vitaminG I still have the gsr sliver 98 I bought off you. |
Am I the only one who hits their head on the headliner/roof when leaning forward? When I reverse into stalls, I lean forward to get an angle on the side mirrors to where I can see the lines on the ground, but my head hits the sun visors/roof, even the windshield lol. So if I really have to, I just sit there tilting the mirrors all the way down so I can see if I'm parking straight or not. Other than that, I love my Integra. I've only owned it as a winter/daily car for a few months, but it's good and gets me places, and carries stuff around. Knock down the rear seats and there's quite a bit of storage space. If only I didn't need to share it with my younger brother, it'd be MT and not a boring slushbox :okay: Then again, if I didn't need to share my winter car, I would have a DA9 again, lol. Miss my old one too much =\ |

Integras are great cars, the only problem with them (especially the vtec motors) is oil consumption. Other than that, it is super reliable. Posted via RS Mobile |

car is classified as 2DR Hatchback. a 318ti, which is also 2DR hatchback, is about the same. $1800ish with 43%. |
I have a 94 GSR and it's definitely a fun car to drive. Rear seats have little to no headroom because the hatch cuts that off, so if you have someone that's like 5'11 or taller then they'll have to slouch quite a bit. It's a light and peppy car, fun to throw around in corners with some suspension mods. The shifter is pretty good, though the clutch is surprisingly hard. Iirc, driving it kind of spiritedly with ~$50 of 91 gas gives me around 450km or so. I like the interior, not as dated looking as some other cars in that gen. Leather looks 10x better than cloth imo and looks a lot newer, so if you have the option I'd say go for leather :) |
Hmm, the Integra looks like a decent car for me then :). Thanks everyone for the input. Also, would any of you consider a 150-200k Integra high mileage? Or not worry to much since it's a Honda? |
I had a 300k 93 EG si that had a motor that was healthier than my integra which was at 197k when I bought it lol. It all depends how it was taken care of, get the engine compression tested and looked at and if it's fine then you should be good to go :) If it's considered high mileage or not should be determined based on the year of the car imo |
I paid about $1500 this year with 43% discount, for a commuting insurance - with the usual stuff - $300 deductible, etc. I know the car isn't expensive, but it's also because it's still a very often stolen vehicle in Canada. But I agree, with an upgraded suspension, stiff rear sway, and good tires, this is a really fun car to drive. |
lol unname saw you at bonsor on sunday :3 parked next to you for like an hour then left. |
EvoLove I havn't been to bonsor in a year that was probably my friend did it have a type-r wing? |
I had an old integra. My one point of advice is get carfax done on it. I DIDN'T with mine. I ended up having over 30 claims on it (obviously an insurance fraud car) and it would never pass aircare (mechanics never were able to figure out that the timing belt skipped a tooth) These cars are cheap, and usually beat on. Get PPI's and buy a clean oem non modified one Posted via RS Mobile |
I pay $160 a month for basic, collision and comprehensive. Driving a 2000 ITR. |
I've never owned the car in question but just a couple hondas a cvcc and a fourth gen prelude and was always shocked how expensive they are to insure in comparison to other cars of similar value. My 77' cvcc was still almost 1700 to insure with a 43% discount when my 67 coronet (a far more valuble car) was just over half that. Altho I've never owned an Integra I've worked on hundred and driven hundreds of them they are great cars and if running well and with proper upkeep get great fuel mileage. |
