Place to cut car key?

My friend had to replace one of his keys for a 2004 honda accord. The case and the metal part was messed up or what not.. Don't really know the specifics.

Basically he got a replacement so he's transferring the inside parts (electrical stuff, immobilizer, etc.) to the new case. However he needs to get the key cut. Are there any places that can do this in vancouver? I don't think home depot or rona would do it since it's not your typical household or old school car key.

Or is he out of luck and has to buy a key from honda?

Can they do these sort of cuts?

Figured most locksmiths didn't have the machinery for that style of key blade.

Accurate Security

These guys cut my 07 Accord key, exactly like the picture above. Somewhere in the neighbourhood of $10, give or take.

If some lackey at the dealership can cut a key for it... a certified locksmith, who can cut keys, pick locks, etc etc... can certainly cut a fucking car key. C'mon man..

Now re-programming a car fob... dealership maybe if the right lackey is on, locksmith probably not.

+1 for Broadway Locksmiths, they can cut most things. They cut a key for my Nissan President there, which of course wasn't ever even sold here, and they made it work with a Q45 key. Looked like the one from your Accord.

Every time I buy a new vehicle, I go there and get two sets of spares to keep at home.

A standard key cutting machine will not work. You need a special machine to do that type of cutting.
