how to repair non functional drivers side lock?

Recently it seems everything on my car is breaking after I get a repair. Anyways, my drivers side door on my 04 accord v6 2dr is not locking except manually. When I press the alarm button on the key, the lock will only engage in the passenger side and the alarm will work only if I don't manually engage the locks with the drivers side door switches but pressing down on the lock knob itself up by the window. Could this all be a result of a burnt fuse or a loose wire, or is there a motor thats broken?

Sounds like a door lock actuator

Test your lock actuator

How can I test the actuator? Is it easily replaceable?

I had mine (I think both sides?) replaced by Honda a few years ago. I think the bill was 500 or 600.

go check the junk yards out, they could probably take one off one of the accords there for you for like $40-$50?

changed the actuator on my dad's 03 civic not that long ago. bought the part online for about 50 bucks, found a youtube tutorial and went at it.

don't know if i can post a direct link or not but google majestic honda and search around some forums for the proper part number as they're different between driver/passenger.

I would call either Autozone or O'Reilly auto parts down in the states and get them to order one in from their warehouse and pick it up there. Usually 30-40 bucks depending which door and theres lifetime warranty on it too.

Thats what we did for our 02 Odyssey. Damn honda and their failing lock actuators.

those honda lock actuators keep on going out on me too. last 2 hondas that came into the shop went out with same issue you have. Maybe disconnecting the battery before doing anything to doors next time, that'll help.
