Raskalov explained in a post on LiveJournal, that he and his crew waited until visitor hours were over to begin their ascent, making sure to avoid the view of security guards on their way up and down the pyramid.

The Great Pyramid of Giza, the largest of Egypt's ancient pyramids, originally stood 481.4 feet tall and took nearly 30 years to construct. But throughout the centuries, the massive structure has lost some of its limestone, and its height has reduced to about 450 feet.

The pictures are outstanding but...

The pyramids are a museum, they shouldn't be touched without permission.

Now tourists are going to follow the leader and mistreat the pyramids even more.

That will be a view they won't be able to forget

nice view....but so not cool.

thats fucking amazing, i don't give a fuck if its a museum or not. The view is worth it.

I dont think those photographers were the first nor last to scale the pyramid

and if you read the article the only reason it seems that the law against scaling the pyramid was enforced was because there were too many accidental deaths

i'm not a photographer but aside from the pics of the guys on the pyramid itself, can't these shots/views be taken from a helicopter without having to disturb the pyramids?

the pyramids are 4500 years old.

that is a lot longer than most of you can even imagine or conceive.

they've stood the test of time for that long. the test of time against nature is greater than any damage a few humans can do, especially just by climbing it with their hands and feet.
