| question for the amg 63 owner
Hi there I am wondering how many km you get on one tank of gas? Real Time driving. I love my car, but I'm not young anymore and I can't just throw my money around. I get just under 250km on one tank of gas (62 L). C63 sedan or coupe does better? I've used the gov mileage site, but its not accurate. Thanks! Posted via RS Mobile |

Mixed or city driving? Before I got the bimmer I had a cls63 (2008) and I was getting 300-320 km/tank from 70% city driving... Also, what gas brand do you use?

250km on one tank is... horrendous.
I get 370km on one tank on the RS5, which is a 4.2 V8.
The tank size is 61L.
At 250km on one tank of gas, you'll be dinged the "green environmental" fee which is, if I remember correctly, $1,000 to $3,000 depending on the government measured fuel economy rating.

63s are notoriously thirsty though so I'm not surprised.. My cls was even worse than my m6 despite being less powerful..
I did notice a significant difference in mileage (~30-40 km more per tank) between running on shell V-power (no ethanol) vs Esso 91.
I would replace the air filters and clean the MAFs if the car has more than 50,000 km too.

90% 10% highway. I'm currently using chevron 91.
ya I know, but gotta love the low end power from the 63 =p gotta pay to play..... but I'm plannign to buy a place in downtown vancouver. I just passed 45,000 km. I was looking at the 2012 CLS 63 AMG and I love the numbers, very impressive. But I don't think I can justify buying another 100k car=(

Chevron 91 contains ethanol, shell 91 does not. Give it a shot! Also, I would buy some new air filters from the dealership. I think the pair runs for about $60.
For me, if I had the funds, it would be between the new E63 AMG S and the M6 Grandcoupe.. I liked the look of the C219 CLS the best and the new CLS has not grown on me yet (it does look good in grey though)..

I got around 270km on a tank on my buddies C63, I average 285km on a tank on the M3, if I do mostly highway or not stuck in traffic with a feather foot I can get up to 340km on a tank.
I'm not surprised at 250km a tank on the 63 AMGs.

But, I think I get roughly 60% of the 370km I mentioned earlier, if I use the sports mode for keeping the RPMs revved up high at 3,000rpms.
Yes, the NA engine is very fun to drive around with, trying to keep the rpms at 3,000 to 3,500 rpms.

I as well try to shift between 2500 and 3500 for efficiency reasons. However, I really love the sound of my car when I shift between 4000 and 5000 (needless to say at 8400, lol)..

I try to drive in D2 as much as I can to save gas for daily commutes. I notice mileage have been getting better lately, I think the switching over to summer blend Shell V-Power helped.

250kms for a tank is not that bad. My 08 m5 with 34k Kms gets 230kms for 60L of chevron 94......100% city downtown driving.....
