I'm not surprised, but I'm not disappointed.

The Green Party establishing any presence is the important milestone, any additional seats are a welcome addition but not as impactful.

Traum 05-14-2013 08:08 PM

I have to say -- I am very surprised to see the NDP falling 7%+ behind. I guess people really prefer an utterly incompetent known evil instead of considering the unknown. :rukidding:

RacingMetro92 05-14-2013 08:10 PM

Huh, Liberals declared winners by CTV...

Too soon junior?

stewie 05-14-2013 08:11 PM

thats because the are not the worst!!

dinosaur 05-14-2013 08:19 PM

Its not necessarily the party I disagree with....its the fucking leader.

Manic! 05-14-2013 08:20 PM

WOW she pulled it off!!!

Hondaracer 05-14-2013 08:21 PM

Not really surprised..

in all the buildup to the election i litterally never spoke to a single person who backed the NDP, so who was voting for them?

I probably had a fairly small sample size but i guess the seniors and union workers are the ones backing NDP?

I do agree with that but at least we know what we are dealing with and what we are going to get out of her. Dix is a loose cannon and the people are not willing to take that chance right now.

She's puppet anyways, we have nothing to worry about.

Manic! 05-14-2013 08:21 PM

Some pundit on news 1130 is saying Clark will be leaving in 2 years.

sonick 05-14-2013 08:21 PM

Eby 4863 to Clark 4808

Losing her own riding

Hondaracer 05-14-2013 08:24 PM

fuck hate that Eby clown even more than Clark

xxxrsxxx 05-14-2013 08:24 PM

so what happens if Liberals form a majority but Christy Clark loses her own riding? Will she still be the leader of the Liberals?

She takes another MP's place. An elected MP gives his seat to her.

I can't remember if this is what typically happens at the federal or provincial level, but I think the usual procedure is, the winner from a really strong Liberals riding will resign, and the party leader will run in a by-election in that riding again.

But definitely, for a party leader to lose out in her own riding is always a bit of a blow.:awwyeah:

Not really racist! 05-14-2013 08:30 PM

My final total was like 123/475 not including like 25 advance voting....

so its like not even 50%... really sad...

xxxrsxxx 05-14-2013 08:33 PM

well then that kinda sucks for the MP that needs to give up the seat

I'd love to see a by-election where Clark ends up losing a strong Liberal riding... :lol

To be honest, if it was Falcon vs Dix I don't think it would've been a close of an election as it is right now. That guy gives off the "no bullshit" vibe and you know what's up when a bunch of large companies back him up.

Falcon probably would've handled a lot of things better than Clark.

MR_BIGGS 05-14-2013 08:38 PM

Pollsters and political pundits were wrong in Alberta during the election last year. They are wrong again this year in BC.

CBC now calls BC Liberal win, unwilling to commit to majority, though. #bcpoli #bcelxn43

If I was a part of the "801 Club" I'd be fearing for my political life right about now...
