No more ear wax, is that even possible? It sounds crazy, but I've been earwax-free for years now and I'm kind of getting paranoid. I shower every day, and for years I've been using a q-tip to clean my ears; but, the q-tips always came out clean. Can they even reach far enough into the canals to pick up the wax? I try to clean my ears with an earpick every once in a while, but I don't get any traces of ear wax. I pick deep enough that it starts hurting, and spend like 15 minutes probing my ear but literally NOTHING comes out. The last time I picked my ears was like 7-8 months ago, and even then nothing ever came out. Is it possible for it to be building up somewhere else in my ear that I can't reach? Should I see a doctor about this? Thanks in advance PS. Sorry, don't know much about ears edit: it's just that back in the day when i was a kid (like 10-11) i used to have ear wax, but it just disappeared so i thought somethin might've been wrong |
if your cleaning everyday after shower (like I do as I often get water in) then you will not likely get any ear wax. ear wax is built up little by little so if your cleaning it everyday after shower then you wont get any build up. |
if youre really curious, visit your doctor and he'll check for you i bet the qtip pushed the ear wax in, if your doc sees any he can most likely flush it out. |
I don't have earwax either. I always clean my ears with q-tips right after I shower because I hate that feeling of water inside them |
Q-tips : You never fully insert them. And everyone gets ear wax man, don't fret over it. If it gets clogged, simply put baby oil in it for a couple times throughout the day..let it soak in, then let it dribble out. Do it twice or so. Then next day, go to the walk-in and get him/her to flush it out. No biggie. Man, when I had this done last year and didn't realize how badly it affected my hearing. The before and after was day/night. I felt like superman with super sensitive hearing. At times, I even had to cover my ears, as they were adjusting. |
It's because you're doing it regularly, preventing buildup. Which you're not supposed to do btw. |
I was told qtips are fairly bad for you as they push the wax further in the ear. This coming from an ear doc/hearing clinic. They suggest once a year to go have the wax removed by the doc., they use some sort of solution and some special tool. If you think you don't have any earwax you might be surprised if you go to the doc. Just because it doesn't come out on a qtip doesn't mean it's not there. |

my doc said qtip is bad for your ears especially if you dig deep enough to clean your ears out. that just packs it deeper and deeper making it impossible for it to naturally come out. just go to the doc and let him take a look at it, i'm sure everything is ok if you haven't had a loss in hearing or anything weird happening in the ear. |
i have some earwax drops that ive used...put 5 drops in your ear and let it sit for 10 minutes, dribble it out. do it to both ears, and later on when you take a shower the warm water gets it all out....seems to be working cause my dr said my ears look good last time i was in his office (few months ago)...but my ears are CONSTANTLY itchy...like deeeeep inside...wanna take a qtip and stab the fucker in all the way till it comes out the other ear! anyone know why its always itchy all the time? ever have this before? |
Wow I been sticking a qtip deeeep in everyday for so many years.. Been doing it wrong all this times |
A few years ago I made the mistake of using q-tips and cleaning my ears. Stupidly, I ended up pushing all my earwax into my ear. I was basically deaf in one ear for a week (I was hoping it would clear up on its own). I went to a walk-in clinic and they flushed it out, which felt really good actually. That feeling of being able to hear crystal clear was amazing. Never making that mistake again.. |
I use a ear picking tool thing.. asian style lol. Hows that for your ears? I dont go to deep but I get a gaugy/cough feeling sometimes when i put it in to deep lol.. |
nobody uses their pinky nail to pick earwax? |
I've been using q-tips for a while now too, maybe once every 2 weeks but i think it's time to get a doc to flush them out. Curious to see how it feels. |
^ +1 im also curious how it feels :suspicious: |
how it feels?:ahwow::sweetjesus::megusta: |
I like to keep some in the ear for catching bugs or any floating debris. |
i clean my ear once every 3-6 months, and i barely ever have anything. genetics man. genetics. some of us are just more perfect lol... |

Everytime my doctor comes and check my ears to clean the earwax out My reaction is like :joy::sweetjesus: I CAN HEAR AGAIN :ahwow: And yes, Q-tips are bad for your ears. I had a couple of years old ear wax stuck in my ears really deep when i was a kid when my parents used them to dry my ears. That explained why I couldn't hear any better than usual. God, you guys should seen the size of it... That was ugly. :heckno: |
:ahwow: never had my ears flushed out before, i wonder how muffled my hearing is ill ask the next time im at the docs :nyan: |

Doctor told me that earwax is there to help protect your ear drums, and it's actually not too good to use a q-tip to clean other than the outer parts of your ear. I'm assuming that since you have cleaned out your ears so well, they are more exposed to irritants which could possibly be causing the itch. |
