Not only would this setup be great for traveling and living mobile, but it can serve as a house too... specially for a young person to save up in this rat race.
Ideally one would need a private property close to town to quietly live on for a low parking fee, electrical usage, wifi, hose water and sewage pump dump...

Do you guys like the exterior design?

To be honest, the concept is an interesting idea. Being able to detach the cabin of a full size RV in order to putt about town could be neat. However, I wouldn't design it from an existing panel van. It would have to be a brand new design in order to compensate for the docking area.

And even then, most people who have RV's usually tow a small compact car or truck in order to bomb into town. And even ignoring that, there are tons of medium sized camper trailers that can be hauled with a conventional sedan car.

Neat idea, but it's a very niche market for something like that. I know you mentioned it could be good for people who can't afford to own their own house, but buying land is the biggest portion of buying RE... not the house. That said, pad rentals at an RV park are pretty cheap.

Arash is a retard how is he still kicking around with his dumb ms paint creations

twitchyzero 04-22-2013 08:46 AM

NICE ZAMBONI BRO

The_AK 04-22-2013 08:52 AM

so like... how would the area between the cabin and trailer close off when driving away? or would it remain open? lol
I'm guessing garbage bags over the opening

tegra7 04-22-2013 08:52 AM

Reminds me of this

So he stole a GMC concept and made it worse.

What his idea is basically this...just smaller and uglier

I was just thinkin he obviously had never seen a pickup and fifth wheel trailer

SolidPenguin 04-22-2013 12:43 PM

I also wonder how much paper mache he is going to use for this "project"

Newer vans are basically the same.

But one cant park and sleep in the heart of downtown with other setups... this is a great feature in itself.

If one needs to take this RV living route, perhaps residential property owners close to town would accept a lower fee then the RV parks.

Sliding doors and metal frame like curtains with a heavy plastic tarp coverings would engage and disengage.

I'd get something like this if I wanted to sleep downtown.

That gives no option to expand the small space like the longitudinal interior of the concept.

MindBomber 04-22-2013 09:38 PM

On RS, standing juxtaposed to convention is unacceptable - hence, Arash is failed.

In this case, I don't think Arash deserved the fails at all. The idea is interesting, innovative, and addresses the restrictions on geographic mobility a conventional home creates by proposing a flexible alternative. The core living space could be contained in the main unit, which has the potential to double as a vehicle, while the secondary living space is contained within a detachable unit to be left behind on short excursions. No need to have a dedicated tow vehicle that's size makes its usefulness negligible for purposes other than towing. Presented in a more polished manner, I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar issued by serious design groups.

The market isn't negligible either; many people, particularly those in younger demographics, aren't particularly sedentary and do not need much living space. For them, something like this might be a very viable alternative.

Im glade you like it MindBomber! The concept looks expensive and complicated but its the opposite when one looks at it technically. Im certain if one was to build them, it would get lots of good offers for it... specially with our inflated housing prices.
