| What is garbage vs recycle?
I'm moving and i have a lot of stuff that I would like to throw out but dont know if I can just chuck it in regular garbage or need to sort it/recycle/sell.
I live in an apartment with cardboard dumpster, garbage, and a bunch of blue plastic dumpster bins for various containers.
Things i would like to get rid of are:
Some pots
glass plates, common ikea ones
batteries
random electronics/misc - cables, old routers, etc
a couple furnitures - shelf, student desk,
thanks.

all the stuff you listed except for the batteries can be dropped off to donation centers like savation army or big brother.
Batteries, you can drop them off at bestbuy or major electronic stores.

Try to.
1. Post on the free section on Craigslist (get them to pick it up)
2. Bring your items (rent a lowes van if you dont have a big car) and bring it to a transfer station.

As long as the things are intact and are not made of glass, most donation places will accept it. Arranging a time is the hassle, especially when you live in an apartment

Craigslist free section gets rid of the most godawful crap you have.
Leave it in the lane with a Free sign.
Keep in mind you are dealing with the general public, try to avoid meeting in your home.

Some Return-It depots take electronics. Check their website to see if any of your electronics are accepted.
If you're near Main and Broadway area, there are a handful of places that accept donations there. Salvation Army around 12th Ave and Sophia. VGH Thrift Store on Broadway between Quebec and Main. I think there's another smaller one in between those two, but i forget the name.

My back alley is wonders.. I always have water bottles, cans and beer bottle but im to lazy to recycle them. So I just bag it up and leave it outside my back! Its usually gone within the same day or hour!
Win/Win, I get to be lazy and some old lady (most likely across the street) just scored the bag of cans/bottles with out doing much.
Also Craigslist is wonders for random stuff.. people will buy anything.

I thought it would be a good idea to leave stuff outside and put a free sign on it but who ever came by made a complete mess going through the stuff... left shit all over the place.
On top of that they took the wheels off an old bbq but left the bbq which made it a bitch to throw away later.
