| What tablet to get???
I'm thinking of getting a tablet for traveling to watch movies/shows, read emails, and browse the internet. Just basic stuff. I know pretty much all tablets can handle this stuff but I want to get something nice. PLease let me know what you think I should get and why. Tell me more information about it.

ASUS Transformer Infinity, or if you want something more laptop-like, the ASUS Vivo Tab has a Windows RT and Windows 8 version. All of them look nice - ASUS' tablets are the best looking imo.
You can attach a sleek keyboard dock that adds more storage, battery life & USB ports to the tablets.

I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and love it. Its just like a Note 2 but much bigger. It has a 1.4ghz quad core processor and 2GB of RAM so I never feel It lag out or anything even with a lot of apps open. It has a 7000mah battery and the battery life is excellent. The feature I like the most are the two front facing speakers which is pretty useful when your watching videos and listening to music. It also has all the S Pen and related apps although I must admit I never use it. The only thing that I would have liked is a screen with 1080p resolution.

Really hard to say. It depends on a lot of things.
Say if you currently are using an iphone than maybe getting an ipad or ipad mini is a good choice since you can share a lot of the apps (expect some apps which specific design for tablets).
Also are you looking for something that's smaller or bigger, something easy to use, looks etc etc........
Personally I try the Nexus 7 and ipad and ipad mini and stick with the ipad mini. Is small enough to carry around, fast enough, durable enough (drop it a few times by gf and still no dent or stratch)
Also you have to look at the OS. Jellybean. 4.1 is good to use but not everyone likes it. My parents who have no business with computers can pick up and use an iphone or ipad with no issue while having issue with Jellybean. iOS is really straight forward to use anyone can use it.

on to the screen shots, you can run android Emulators for Super Nintendo & 8 bit Nintendo Any game You want & even console graphic games like Beach Buggy.
Overall i give it a 9.0/10 i wish there was a 1080P screen, but the 800p is quite decent, everybody who i showed this tablet to was really impressed & wanted one....i counted at least 6 & they went Android,it takes like 4 seconds to understand where the home button & return is....
2GB of ram is plenty of ram for a tablet & its snappy.
Don't Forget you can Pick up a 32gb MicroSD card & pop it in the top,my Galaxy Samsung note 10.1 is now 64GB,Plenty of space for apps & Movies ripped in 720p...it plays them smoothly using the app MX Player,it uses all 4 cores to play the video so its really smooth fast forwarding and skipping scenes..

^ipad mini didn't create a demand for smaller tablets. Its the other way around. Apple released the iPad mini because there was such a demand for smaller tablets created by the 7" ones running Android.

Depends what size you want.
7" = Nexus 7
10" = pretty much any newer Asus one
Nexus 7 is by far the best value. No bloatware, fast, great screen. Only negative is that there is no expandable storage. Definitely easier to travel with.
I still have the first Asus tf101 and it still serves me pretty well. Slower than all the newer ones and no Jellybean but I just watch movies and read comics on it now.

Got a nexus 7. It's cheap, reliable, good quality, and small. You can carry it possibly in your pants pocket. Posted via RS Mobile |

One thing I forgot to mention is that Asus tablets all seem to be solidly built. The one problem I had with Acer, Samsung and other android tablets is that they all felt cheap/flimsy compared to Asus.

Thanks for all the information guys. I actually already have a Note 2, so I'm looking in the 10" range. I probably will be using while I'm playing poker mostly and when I'm traveling as well. If you guys have any more specific suggestions, please let me know.

I should also tell you that I purchased the Asus Transformer Infinity and the Note 10.1 at the same time so I could compare them back to back and I experienced some stuttering and many force closes with the Asus. After using both for 4 days I ended up returning the Asus despite the Transformers superior 1080p resolution screen and keeping the Note 10.1 because of the front facing speakers and the overall smoother experience. The build materials are definetly superior on the Asus because they use metal but while the Samsung uses polycarbonate it definetly feels well put together, no weird creaks or bending. Hope this helps! Posted via RS Mobile

I've got an ipad2 and asus tf300 w/dock. Honestly, depends on what your budget is, and what uses beyond the obvious, you might have.
My ipad2 is primarily a communication tool for talking to my friends/family in California, via facetime. Beyond that, it's usefulness has been replaced by my TF300. I do still use it for netflix though, since it's battery life is pretty incredible as a standalone.
My TF300, I use as a demi-netbook. With the keyboard dock, I get ~14-15 hours of battery life, and can use it for skype, emails, netflix, etc. without any issues. Not to mention it has a microSD slot on the tablet and an SD slot on the dock. Amazon had them for $332 a while back, which was a killer deal, but it's a discontinued tablet now that the Memopad series has been released.
Advantage of Android vs iOS, you can play/watch any video file on Android.
I'd say go to a store, play around with some, see if you notice any "lag" when playing around with them. I found the Galaxy Tab 2 series have some definite swiping lag, and just don't seem as snappy as the Note 10.1 or Tegra 3 based tablets.
All that being said, we're just on the cusp of some new tablets being released/announced, the Sony Tablet Z, for example, which will be bringing newer SoC/screens to the fold. Best bet would be figure out your budget, figure out when you need it by, and figure out if you like the interface/launcher.

I am using an Asus VivoTab RT with the dock and I like it. With the dock attached, it feels just like using a netbook and I get around 16 hrs of battery life. Windows RT is limited and there's not a lot of good apps out there but it does come with Office 2013 and good enough for basic stuff like internet, email and movies.

just a heads up on the Galaxy Tab 2's. I don't think they come from the factory with Jellybean (4.1) Android OS installed. So if you do encounter some swipe lagging, it's probably because of the older OS. Upgrade it to Jellybean and you'll notice a nice improvement.

Whatever cell phone you're using (iOS or Android), get that type of tablet.

Very satisfied with my nexus 7, I'd use it for everything. Only downside I find is the wifi reception range
