Did a more aggresive pace today. Still no running in the beginning like I use to..managed a 43:xx. Hopefully with a short run in the beginning, I will manage a better time. |

47:38 yesterday Took a few small breaks at the 1/2 and 3/4 mark And finished w/ gas to spare Pretty confident I can get it under 45 But under 40 will still need somework. ^such a beast man! Good job What do you guys do to shave your time? Do you just keep going? I got 1:32 last week and was able to get 1:15 this week. These are the first two times I've gone lol. I want to hit around 1 hour. Is there anything I should add to my gym routine? I was thinking of doing a lot more stair master for my cardio instead of running. Posted via RS Mobile |

For me, no stopping. Slower pace if I'm tired but no stopping. I found that getting on my toes too do the shallower steps saves my quads so I can go hard for the latter bit. 45 still seems so far away.. lol |

As an avid ex-GGer my best advice to people who want to get faster is repetition and biking. I went up last week, but I don't think I'll be buying a pass this year. Pulled a 43:21 (pb is just under 39:00) and that makes me happy considering I haven't done the grind in over a year now. I just stick to recreational biking nowadays and I commute on a bike as often as possible. I'll go again at the end of the season to see if my times improved. |
Dton, you are a MONSTER. That is INSANE. 52-55 minutes. Fairly certain when my slight injury heals, I can do it in under 50. I do squats but that's about it. Still with love handles and at 170-173lbs. 90% of it is mental imo, I breathe so hard, people look at me like I'm going to croak - it's about pacing yourself and driving through with your feet, use hips, and chest up. |

Thanks for the tips guys! Will be cycling for my cardio this week and will see if that helps. I'm also going to not stop when I take breaks which is what I've been doing. I would stop and catch a breather instead of continuing up. Hopefully this Saturday I can hit around 1:00 - 1:10 don't think I would be able to shave off another 15 minutes :P hoping for 5 or 10 |
