Good place for Pre-purchase inspection?

Whats a good place where I can bring a newer BMW in for inspection prior to private sale? I was things like a scan for codes and the engine checked out and can do it almost immediately?

Perhaps a BMW dealer...?

No, however can they be relied on for an inspection on a BMW?

BBMme 05-14-2013 04:39 PM

Im pretty sure you can rely on them, but they wont do M models

yeah you could call bcaa and book an appointment for a vehicle inspection ahead of time and they will come down, meet you and do the inspection (I believe its 143points, not sure if you could ask them to do extras or not).

However, call asap because as I recall you may have to book it couple of weeks in advance to in order to get a slot. Not sure exactly about how busy they are now though so yeah.

Pros of using BCAA: they are fair and honest since they will not know the buyer or owner prior to the inspection. They are also mobile, and professional.

Cons of using BCAA: Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't believe they do your actual inspection inside a shop.

Independant shops off the top of my head:

Nixon Automotive (Burnaby)
CG Motorsports (Richmond)
German Autosports (Surrey?)
Blitzkrieg Autowerkes (Vancouver)
Brian Jessel Autohaus (Burnaby/Vancouver'ish)
Performance One (Richmond)

There's probably more but again, this is just off the top of my head.

Which model year of BMW are you looking at? I have a scan tool but if it's beyond 2007, I can't help you.

I took mine to autohaus. Highly recommended. And it'll be like 100-120$ for it. I paid employee price when I worked there so I'm guessing this is regular price

Very worst option.

I've had many PPI's done at Nixon Automotive. Saved me thousands from not buying crap!

I can also vouch for Autohaus.

my friend goes to minit tune in richmond for service. they do pre-inspection service too. read good reviews on yelp.

BBMme 05-14-2013 09:29 PM

ya dealer would probably be the worst in terms price.
Independent provides the same excellent service for half the $

If your in or near Richmond, take it to CG. They do flawless work and are very friendly. If your in or bear the surrey area, check out GAS (German auto sports) as I've been dealing with them for years, very good guys. Just sorta out of the way.

Performance One is new... maybe give them a call and see their rates.
