I like; but with that said, is it just me or are the manufacturers getting ridiculous with the number of series (granted that they are done with sound marketing)?

Not to knock on anyone's car and I still like the BMWs; but the reason I raise this point is that the cars are getting ridiculously big and are missing the essences which made them great in the past. For example, the wheelbase of a E46 is 2,725mm and the wheelbase of a normal F30 is 2,810 mm (the long wheelbase one in China is even longer at 2,920 mm) and a E39's wheelbase measures 2,830mm. With the growth in size, they now need to make an "entry" level series more nimble and we now have the 2-Series which should have been the 3-Series.
