seriously though,

you have two options like others have stated.

get a job

or

get a loan

if the idea of a loan is displeasing to you, start working, save up for the first year and then work while studying and saving up for the following years tuition.

with your dad out of a job and your mom only working weekends, you might need to make money for more than just yourself and your education.

good luck :toot:

I am a wealthy businessman who can can definitely help your mom find work during the weekdays to help extend your free ride!

Cash business, mainly evening work. Huge earning potential if she possesses a lack of gag reflex.

PM for details.

I hope you have some durable knee pads for your new part time job

SpeedStars 05-29-2013 03:30 PM

How can *we* pay for college?
Your parents aren't going to post sec, you are. It should majorly be your responsibility to cover the costs, not theirs. While you are lucky they offered to cover all the costs, you shouldn't feel as if they needed to pay for your post sec education. Summer jobs are soon here, grab one. Making 1k in the summer is 1k towards your education. It's also 1k that your parents have in their pocket that they can use to cover bills.

Student loans also are very low in interest. As others have noted, get a loan, get a job after post secondary, pay off that loan.

If all those fail... There's tons of corners on Hastings that need occupying. Get to work.

Did it suck? Majorly. But there will be times where you have no choice but to man up.

Being a full time student is no excuse for not having a part time job.

Your parents are slaving away just to put food in your mouth and a roof over your head. The LEAST you can do is pull your own weight.

Take out a loan. Get a job. Pay it off after grad. Give back to your family.

You're not entitled to anything.

Wow, feel the same way. No reason one can't work and go to school at the same time it just takes some discipline.

jerche 05-29-2013 03:58 PM

Surprisingly, student loans has tons of grants to give out. Declare yourself as an independent. By doing so, you fall under the low income bracket and they give you $2000 in grants each year that you don't have to pay back. This was what I did.

falcon 05-29-2013 04:05 PM

Get a job or student loan like everyone else and stop being a freeloader.

Gridlock 05-29-2013 04:31 PM

Oh, I've enjoyed some of Burnoutbinladens posts.

But this is some stupid stupid shit son.

Some damn sloppy shit.

I want to go back to school in September, and Co-Op is a long way off. How can we pay for college in the meantime? I really don't want to take out loans, but if I have to, I have to. My mom works on weekends, if it makes a difference.

wow, you've made some posts well above your age - but this just shoots you right back down to hand out douche bag...

i paid for all my schooling - whether my parents could pay for it was irrelevant (they could, with ease - but were never going to and i knew this and was more than accepting from day 1 - but they fed me, gave me a free roof over my head and supported me in every other way - the actual important aspects... not the money - trust me, as you get older this is ALL that matters)

why on earth should your parents pay for your schooling - maybe you should be concerned by your family's upcoming financial difficulties rather than your own personal problems - what a selfish cunt!

my family will ALWAYS come first, ALWAYS - give to them before you even consider taking for yourself, or even earning money for yourself... they gave you life, you owe them everything you can give them.

you disgust me

Gridlock 05-29-2013 04:44 PM

Quad4 is fucking blunt. Not great on proper capitalization either. :)

AzNightmare 05-29-2013 05:12 PM

Use your dad's EI money to pay for your college :troll:

Euro7r 05-29-2013 05:52 PM

OP should go screw himself. Anyone that relies on their parents for financial assistance are beyond useless. Parents can only do so much up to a certain point in taking care of you.

i see now why people have such a sense of entitlement because they went to school. It's only because they paid for it. lol.

the easiest solution is to realise what school is, and remove the desire you have to go to school. then your problems are solved.
