Wow real jolt outta the blue for you eh.
Selfish youth.
Did you ever consider how surprised or stressed your dad must be not only a wife and roof to support buy a dead beat lazy kid that thinks only of oneself.
He must be so proud of you. Get a job support yourself pay your dues and put some food on back the table that you been feeding off all your life. Help your family makes ends meet its your responsibility you just have been to blind to see it.

i got through my tuition(23k) by working and eating mcdonalds/left overs
those were some shitty times.....

604STIG 05-30-2013 10:25 AM

OP is never coming back to this thread. He already lit his computer on fire to make sure of it. Which is a shame cause he could have just sold it and given his old man some $$$. :lawl:

AzNightmare 05-30-2013 11:14 AM

Interesting, OP never responded in this thread (or make another post on RS).
Usually with a thread like this, at the very least, OP would respond with some sort of a "backpeddling" post.

Maybe he really DID light his computer on fire...

Razor Ramon HG 05-30-2013 11:56 AM

Under his current circumstances and how he hasn't been back on to check the thread (which comes off as a bit odd), I am slightly concerned for his well-being.

snails 05-30-2013 11:57 AM

maybe he took our advice and got a job?! he could be working so hard he has no time for RS

:troll:

degen your way through with student loan money and gamble it up!! this dudep layed online casino and look what happened

Quote:

It's coming up to Christmas and I am broke. I have registration for my car due in 2 weeks. Rent to pay. And a student loan outstanding that is taking a chunk out of my limited finances. I have a payment of $800 coming to me from the government(student scholarship) which gets paid directly to my bank account. I am thinking, pay my bills and if I have any spare and ill load a few $$$ on 888.

Pay day comes around, I've been broke for weeks and this is the first significant sum I have had for awhile. So naturally I fire up 888 and deposit $100 - planning to play poker. But no.. Straight to blackjack.. Lose $100 in 1 minute. Load $100, lose. Load $200, lose. Load $300, looking to double up and escape this madness, lose.

I am down to my last $200 in would of been a 30 minute period. Remember that I don't have any other way of paying my bills and that my registration due date is so very close. Start to worry.

I decide the smartest thing to do is go all or nothing. Balls out. I chuck $100 down, and win. another $100,win. $100, double down, WIN. very soon after I am looking at $1800 in my balance. Thinking **** I did it, I am saved.

I quickly go to the cashier and withdraw the whole amount. Switch off the pc. Tell myself to quit for awhile and do some of assignments..

Five minutes later...

Cashier > Cancel Withdrawal > Blackjack

I am back at blackjack, I am not even thinking at this point. Very soon after that session, I quit with $1100 - feeling like a big loser.

Cashier > Withdraw > $1100

This time I think I lasted 15 minutes before firing the laptop up again and cancelling the withdraw. 10 minutes later, $0.

I feel like a worm, a big piece of turd, I call myself names and think about all the bills I COULD have paid with that money. I look in the mirror and despise what I see. A balding 24 year old that still lives with his mother. I am an overweight disgrace that relies on handouts and has never had a job.

Oh well get my check from the government for $217 in two weeks. 13 days to go, until I can take another shot. Forget car registration, like I am going to get caught.

2 days later, get randomly pulled over for a breathalyser test..

No registration = $1000 fine.

I am not allowed to drive my vehicle and the cop leaves me on the side of the highway. About 30 km (20 or so miles) away from my house. Long walk.

They have also now combined provincial and federal loans so you no longer have 2 different payments.

Cant wait to pay mine off! Only 80 months to go :(

Thta's over 6 and a half years :accepted: I am glad I paid mine off this year can't tell you how happy I am when I made the last payment.

Hondaracer 05-30-2013 02:31 PM

It's nice they consolidated the federal and provincial portions. Out of my loan I began working and only ever received paper work for my provincial portion so I paid it off no problem in a few months then like 6 months later I get a letter saying I owe 3k in the federal portion

:okay:

Was on me to keep track of my loans lol but they had really shit paper work compared to the provincial portion which gave you an update monthly

I want to go back to school in September, and Co-Op is a long way off. How can we pay for college in the meantime? I really don't want to take out loans, but if I have to, I have to. My mom works on weekends, if it makes a difference.

don't go back to school is your answer :rukidding:

education is very expensive. you can't afford it right now.

Uh... it's only the end of May. Over three months, he can work and save up, and/or get a loan. The system isn't here to deny him education just because he doesn't have enough money right at this moment.

I don't think the OP is trolling, just seems like one of these entitled left wing, pro occupy movement slackers that expect everyone else to solve their problems and everything paid for by someone else so they don't have to work hard, at least thats my impression.

rsx 05-30-2013 07:03 PM

Life experience is something you can't go to a class for. After HS, I went straight to UBC and if I was to do it all over again, I would take 1-2 years off and work first.

Take this time to work, learn about the hardships of life and help your fucking family out.

Don't be a pussy, because your thread is literally the definition of what being a pussy is.

lolwut?

entiltement has nothing to do with political ideology nor the occupy wall street movement, there are entitled people from all walks of life

i thought rs had a higher level of discourse than "leftie socialist scum" or "right wing fascist pig"

Never said all left wingers were entitled and yes there are entitled right wing brats too, all I am referring to is this OP sounds like the typical left wing pro occupy movement idiots I kept running across in downtown Vancouver who would only spout off about how the rich should pay more, more welfare and handouts while not wanting to work for it themselves or solve their own problems and only waste their time living in tents on the Art Gallery. This is what the OP comes across as to me when complaining about his parents not able to pay for his schooling and not wanting to work.

I took 2 years off after HS to get my shit together and OH MAN, did I pay for it!

My family nagged me on a daily basis about going to school...it was like a committed murder. Was the best decision though....bunch of friends went to uni\college after HS and all dropped out.

I wanted to figure out my plan before floundering in 100 level classes until something peaked my interest. I grew up a lot in those 2 years and realized that working min wage jobs was going to get me nowhere so I better focus in uni.

The only thing I wish is that I saved money those 2 years....oh well.

There's a lot of time in life, people seem to think its a lot more limited than it is to the point they think life is over at 30 because they have families etc and they're just waiting for the end of it

There's lots of time to go to school, get a new profession, etc etc

If you don't have the money now for school and you don't want to take out a loan and don't feel you can juggle a job with school, don't feel like your lifes over you've got a lot more time than you realize and you can use it to get things sorted out.

i/we probably should have typed that message out initially
