The car's drivetrain is great. With the V8, crawl ratio, and 4ETS it is equivalent to a manual V6 TJ with front, rear, and center lockers (doing da maths).
But the ground clearance is a big issue. With IFRS, I don't know if a 3-5" lift would even be enough.

3" lift with 33's is plenty of clearance to get around

I'd probably need underbody armor as well in that case. I couldn't believe it when I saw how easy it is to lose clearance with IFRS.

More armour is almost never a bad idea anyways. Ground clearance is the same regardless of the amount of lift (as it's based off of the tire size). The best way to keep your lift to a minimum is use taller but stock width or smaller tires. Fender/control arm/bumper clearances are obviously much better with something closer to the size it was originally meant to have. You'd be amazed where your vehicle would go with even 235/85r16 all terrains or mud terrains.

Got me a new off-roader.
Oh, wait.... wrong car.
Still have a few things I need to do to it before I can really drive it. Bought all new rear suspension for it, along with a few gaskets for the engine. Figure I'll do fluid flushes everywhere on the thing as well. BUT... I replaced the H3 bulbs in the fog lights today. Yay me?
Oh, and I think the transfer box is pooched. Grinds every time I try to drop it into 4Lo |

Soundy - if you still have that amazing pic of my truck when Nick was being a fruity boy in it and going through all the MUD PUDDLES.. I lost it haha..
But I have a 2012 RAM 1500 with 35's and a small lift/level of 3 and 2 inch.. its got an IRON CROSS front bumper because I ruined my stock one with PINOY at triangle when i was being overzealous.. I have the standard tow strap and shackles etc...
